I have been asked to resign for "not fitting in". By "not fitting in" they meant that I was unwilling to charge my clients for 8 hours when I only worked 4. I resigned. I said that on the Unemployment insuracne application. I got my UI.
I find a certain amount of irony in someone who has collected unemployment benefits bitching about people "leeching off welfare"

If you're so short that you're having difficulty paying your bills you could, you know, stop giving a tenth of your wage to the church.
Au contraire Mr. Know-it-all. The Church, during the time I was unemployed, paid my rent, utilities and food. Now that I am able, I pay my 10 percent so that they can help people lilke they helped me.
This is how it is SUPPOSED to work. People volunteering to help other people, instead of being forced.

We often have service projects, people on church welfare are expected to be there helping out. We often work at "welfare farms". These are farms that grow food for the "Bishop's Storehouse". Welfare recipients are expected to help out on the farms. They are also expected to work i nthe Storehouses when the ward has an assignment there.
We verify, because we see them there. However, the Bishop is generally the only one in the Ward who knows who is on welfare.

I have personally only worked ~3 months of my life so far (I'm in my early 20's, though), and right now I live off savings and ~300€/month that I get for being unemployed. I can personally live decently on this, at least so far, and if I have to, I will go and get myself a job.

It is one of the funniest posts I've seen on the new fora, I'm not going to lie... However I only found it funny after reading it fifty nine times, because I was sure it couldn't be that retarded.

I'm not sure quite how ricockulous it is, because every time I get to the second paragraph I lose consciousness.

KMA was never on government welfare. He took some help from the LDS Church he bleongs to when he was out of work. Well, okay, he did collect unemployment but that's not the same as being on welfare.
^^^ This. Yeah.I dont consider Unemployment Insurance welfare.

I'll answer that last question: a remedial English class.

Of course not. Unemployment is simply money taken from tax payers and handed out to those who aren't currently contributing monetarily to society. That's totally different than welfare.[/quote]

*I* cant even afford the phones *I* have. And part of that is because the taxes and surcharges that I pay go for this stupid handout system. Ever hear of a PAYPHONE?
You need to review your plans and cut back if you can't afford them. And it's sort of hard to receive calls on a PAY PHONE when it's out pn the street or in a shop or somewhere like that.

Of course. They're called "bus stations" and "train stations" and "libraries" and "homeless shelters" and a plethora of other publically accessable locations.
I have, on more than one occassion, needed to charge my cellphone while traveling. If you look around, you can find an outlet in just about every transport hub.
