It is impossible. Some people will always be more intelligent, productive and visionary then others. This should be encouraged, not prevented with artificial and immoral impositions of 'equality'.

No one is advocating equality of abilities as a political goal.

Japan may indeed have another chance at greatness, but such a chance would never come had they been annihilated by nuclear fire.

What makes you think that Japan is not great?

I never said that. They have a lot of potential.

Equality in all aspects certainly would be undesirable, though I cannot see how one could possibly argue that socioeconomic equality is negative.

Indeed. Which is why manipulation is such an important part of greatness.

And yet, a shepard who manipulates and mistreats his sheep becomes a poorer shepard than one that encourages and grooms them.

Oh, and reposting just in case you didn't see.

"Darwinism is not reasonable. It is not scientific, it is not prosperous. It was condemned by Darwin himself, and is only used by those who do not actually understand the Theory of Evolution via Natural Selection.

After all, if you really understood it, you'd understand that it is not about money, but about reproduction.
Secondly, you'd also understand that your metaphor is flawed. It is not the individual that is superior, but merely the individual's traits in context to the surrounding enviorment. Which means that the only reason that some people tend to be more successful than others is because they are better suited for that cultural, political, economic climate. Which is exactly what I have been saying."
This Debate is simply an exercise in Rhetoric. Truth is a fickle being with no intentions of showing itself today.

The West won the world not by the superiority of its ideas or values or religion … but rather by its superiority in applying organized violence. Westerners often forget this fact; non-Westerners never do.

The most fundamental problem of politics is not the control of wickedness but the limitation of righteousness.

To camouflage their innner emptiness.
CVT Temp wrote:I mean, we can actually create a mathematical definition for evolution in terms of the evolutionary algorithm and then write code to deal with abstract instances of evolution, which basically equates to mathematical proof that evolution works. All that remains is to show that biological systems replicate in such a way as to satisfy the minimal criteria required for evolution to apply to them, something which has already been adequately shown time and again. At this point, we've pretty much proven that not only can evolution happen, it pretty much must happen since it's basically impossible to prevent it from happening.

But this is NSG. If we don't put on the intellectual pretense to make our arguments seem better by style, what else are we supposed to do to show off our elitism?
