Eh, why not? Hawaii doesn't really strike me as a marijuana area (California, maybe), but why not?

Some people can't handle it; some can. You would be allowed to do meth; you would still be responsible for what you do while high.

Given your politics, I assume you are a teenager who doesn't believe in such restrictions anyway. Unsurprising.

I think it's fairly easy to say that there are so few people who can "handle" meth that it's better for society not to have meth be a legal substance.

That unfairly punishes those who can handle it.

No matter what, all soft drugs should be legalized. I think we can agree on that.

I'd be fine with having meth legal for people who are willing to pay massive taxes on it to pay for treatment...

Not to make the government money or anything, just so it's not a net cost.
America if it didn't get involved in Word War I. And the Marxist ideal of violent revolution was carried out more heavily. And Hoover was assassinated. And loads of other things that eventually lead to fascism.

Now there's a state that could go with some marijuana legalization. It's like having a delicious piece of cake and having someone go, "Would you like some ice cream with that?" "Damn, here I was thinking 'mmm, good cake' completely content not realizing it could get better, and then here you come making it better with your delicious ice cream!" Allow one of the chillest states to be more chill, awesome.

Seriously, when was the last time you heard a news story that made you go, "Dammit Hawaii"?
"...I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season." -MLK Jr.

Well, said restrictions are about as based in reality as the idea that all adults have 100 IQ, so...
