What lies in the future for Russia?

Postby Christmas Tree » Mon Feb 04, 2013 8:34 pm

What do you think will happen to Russia in the near future.

I think the following are possibilities.

A. Russia's economy grows and becomes world power.
B. Russia and China become one country.
C. Russia becomes communist
D. A democratic revolution erupts, and democracy is introduced.

Thoughts?

Economy may grow but I doubt they will be a superpower.

Yes, but which do you think will happen?

I do not see B happening, ever. C seems quite unlikely. A and D, well, eventually Vladimir Putin will die or ... no, he'll die. If the world's economy recovers, so will Russia's.

Honestly, they're taking their baby steps on a long walk back towards Communism.

I take back the whole China-Russia thing, but if tensions ever rise with the West between these two countries they might form some sort of alliance, especially if war erupts.

Putin's men make great technological bounds and sacrifice themselves so that he can ascend into godhood for the glory of Mother Russia and the annihilation of NATO Capitalists. Basically think Dr Manhattan but Russian and also Vladimir Putin. In other words its best that we dig our bunkers while we still can.

please, Putin is in every part of Russia's future, he's like that stain on a shirt you just can't get out, :p
Put getting rid of Putin would be a step in the right direction, my opinion is that the A just Russia party is the current best chance for Russia to become better,
considering United Russia is under Putin's thumb, rather fractured, and corrupt
the Communist...well they didn't do to well the last time around, and lets leave it at that

Russia and China are already in quite a few alliances, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation for one. Also, Russia is a democracy.

A. Russia's economy grows and becomes world power.

Russia already is a world power. Not a Superpower, but they are a permanent member of the UNSC and have one of the most powerful militaries in the world. They also have enough nukes to blow the whole world up at least 20 times.

B. Russia and China become one country.
Not a chance.

C. Russia becomes communist
Slightly more of a chance, but the Communist Party of the Russian Federation is not that big. Too many Putin supporters

D. A democratic revolution erupts, and democracy is introduced.
Last time I checked Russia was a democracy. Wikipedia says:

E. Russia gently declines while China takes the lead with other developing nations.

Ha. Hahahahaha. Hahahahaha.

Ugh.... so funny.

China and Russia never really got over their little "schism" that lead to the USSR downfall. Not to mention China is not really interested in anyone but the USA's money.

In a serious sense, moderate nationalism would help the Russian economy grow, but you know, Putin wins by default.

Good about the commies.

A Just Russia isn't that big (compared to others) and is borderline socialist, which is not what Russia needs right now.

Seriously. Anarcho-capitalism basically is the embodiment of ultimate freedom. Your country, "Scandinavian Liberal Paradise", means you are authoritarian on economics, and therefore NOT free.

So, Why do Liberals hate economic freedom?
