It is not 'given to you' - they are providing a service in exchange for you paying taxes, which you have allowed them to believe without bothering to correct them. This is because most people pay taxes -read: honest- so everyone assumes that you have unless told otherwise. This is known as presumption of innocence, and generally thought of as a good thing.

The public are only providing to you those services because they believe that you contribute
Tax evasion combined with continued use of public services/property is dishonesty & theft.

theft (thft)
n.
1. The act or an instance of stealing; larceny.
Now, if a person was say, jealous of me and my blue ball he could form a council or gang of children and then have me conform to certain playground code of etiquette. I might enjoy living under such a council for awhile without fear of bullying, but there might be a day when that group comes and take my ball away. If this is against my will or they do not have my permission to do so, all the while not providing the service we agreed upon, then it is still theft.
TAXES ARE THEFT PERPETUATED BY A LARGE ORGANIZED GROUP
In retrospect some may argue that well "THE US HAS THE POWER TO TAX". Yes, this is true, but it has limitations.
Among these are:
Direct taxes must be apportioned amongst states.
Article I, Section 2, Clause 3
Indirect taxes must be uniform.
Article I, Section 8, Clause 1
The obamacare tax(ruled a penalty) and income taxes overstep this crucial boundary in the law as they're both direct taxes that are not apportioned.
Basically, taxes are theft; a fact that has become increasingly apparent with the expansion of the welfare state in which taxes are used to unilaterally benefit one party at the expense of another.

Form W4. Everyone's paying taxes, whether you like it or not. Filing taxes is mainly so that you declare how much you paid and who owns who, and usually ends up with a nice tax refund.
Oh, did I perceptually destroy your dreams of being Galt? I'm not sorry.

No, they can't. Poor people can't afford bodyguards or mercenary armies. This would provide a monopoly on force for the rich, which ends up being neo-feudalism. Oh, and your bitching is called freedom of speech, but it's still bitching.

There would be fewer poor. Defense would probably be funded by insurers. Premiums would generally be lower in general, for things we have insurance already for. The very poor wouldn't have much to insure. Life insurance is already fairly cheap. And there are charities and other programs to help them.

Now now, this isn't about how we could hypothetically do without taxes. This is about how they're theft.
