I accept from you this five of high.
(I am right in assuming this means five ounces of weed correct?)

Cute way of saying "high five" I think.
There were three or four kids in my year of high school who wanted an Economics elective subject. Minimum to make a new elective was about ten students, so if I'd joined them and brought another two or three, it could have happened. But my parents were lefties, and back then Economists were the enemy. I wish I'd known better, because now economics seems like required knowledge to me. At least more useful than the Chemistry and German I learned.

B-b-b-b-but five of high no weed?
Anyway. I'm currently enrolled in the worst Spanish program in the history of Foreign Language Studies, and I can't switch out because it would "look bad to colleges".

CVT Temp wrote:I mean, we can actually create a mathematical definition for evolution in terms of the evolutionary algorithm and then write code to deal with abstract instances of evolution, which basically equates to mathematical proof that evolution works. All that remains is to show that biological systems replicate in such a way as to satisfy the minimal criteria required for evolution to apply to them, something which has already been adequately shown time and again. At this point, we've pretty much proven that not only can evolution happen, it pretty much must happen since it's basically impossible to prevent it from happening.

Spanish is a useful language though. Ten times as many people speak it as speak German, and if you're in the States (west or south) having both English and Spanish would give you an employment advantage.
What's wrong with the course?

Interesting.
Total gibberish to me considering I'm in the 10th grade, but interesting none the less.
It's just an equation that states that income (Y) is equal to Consumption (C), plus Investment (I), plus Government Spending (G) plus net exports (NX). Net exports being exports minus imports.
Consumption is equal to income minus taxes (Y-T), Investment depends on the interest rate (r*) and net exports depends on the exchange rate (e).

which is why approaching economics from biology is so fun, so many of the equations are identical, just worked out form different sources, biologists have been dealing with nutrient and energy economies for ages, and we have many more options for experiments. Ecology and physiology are experimental economics shorn of pretense.

My teacher speaks five languages. None of them are English.
This is Spanish II. We are supposed to be able to ask "What does that mean?"
The rest of the teachers are basically the same. Either they barely speak English or don't know how to teach. At all.
My teacher wrote five words on the board in two months.

I see how that would be a problem. This is Spanish II. We are supposed to be able to ask "What does that mean?"

Afraid to turn his/her back on the class perhaps?

If that's really all there is to it, then I guess I was right about this being directly relevant to the thread. Your attitude seems to be that if you hate something then you don't have to do it. Can you understand why very few people are convinced by what you have to say, and why you are unlikely to ever win many converts?

Now, the relevant question is, why did he hate school? I can of course guess, and I'm sure you can as well.

96% of Americans benefit from one government program or another, and most people don't even realize it.
The denial is strong, strongest with anti-tax people of course, but most Americans just don't realize how often Uncle Sam gives them a handout.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that it's inherently theft, but Capitalism certainly is a very unfair system which makes it easy for the rich to steal from and oppress the poor.
