No, no, no, you're are extremely to the left, you hate free markets.
Oh, and I was thinking about going to the reserves for the army at some point, I'm not sure though.

Reserves is always a safe bet. You can usually always go active if you'd like, and you get great benefits! Sometimes I wish I would've done reserve or guard instead of active

Well, even though we're from two different countries, You're part of the family. Trig will become your best friendMy advice, learn how to do it on paper incase any calculator or instrument they give you to help deal with equations breaks. I don't know if they teach you that there, I know here we have to learn everything on paper before we're allowed to touch an instrument.
Yeah, so I've heard. Sniping is an art, and we are the artist (so my instructor says). And yes, we do all our calculations on paper. We actually are not allowed to use an instrument until the course has been completed. Then we are given training with the computers and readers. And yes, trig was actually my best subject in college and high school, so I'll be familiar with the terms right off the bat.

Then you'll do well at training and in combat. However, something all snipers must consider, and I want you to think about this.
Are you willing to take a life? I know alot of people sign up just so they can kill. But, that's not the point of being a scout sniper, your job is to collect intel and protect those around you with said intel. You must realize that once you peer down that scope, at one quick pull of a trigger, you are going to end someone's life. And alot of times, you won't know why other than that you were told to do so. I'm saying this because of certain situations and experiences I've had, of which I'm not too comfortable talking about on NS here has really had an impact on me. I want you to remember that, what you hold is meant to take a life, and you can not get that life back. You do not hate your enemy, you respect him. And its alright to feel remorse, it makes us human, and in times of need you have vets on here like me who you can always talk to.

You pretty much just spoke the same words my granfather, a Vietnam combat veteran (Marine Corps), told me. I think about this everyday I arm up, and honestly, it is different for snipers and ADM's. I was told I must be prepared to carry the person's soul whom I've taken with me for the rest of my life. I haven't had to take someone's life yet, but the time will come. All I have to prepare myself is my training, my family, and my God. And I'm thankful for vets like yourself who can help people like me make it through this carrer.
Edit: And yes, our job is primarily intel and unit vision. The sniping part...well...that's the execution...

And I thank you for serving your country buddy. We all do this together.

I've always been interested in the military, and thus serving my country, but I don't want to be deployed overseas, or to an active war zone, so the reserves was the best thing.
I live in the U.S, btw.

Then reserve would be a good option. You don't normaly deploy, but then again, you simply never know. Depends on your job really. But I totally understand, not a fan of being mortared eh?
