Do you serve in the military?

I've noticed that there are few, if any, OP's concerning people who serve in their nation's military. Simply put, I'd like to make a thread where one could post what branch they serve under, what country, what they do, and how they like it. Also feel free to ask any questions you may have concerning the military or what it's like if you don't know!

As a footnote, I'd like to say thank you to anyone who's served, you do your country a favor! :clap:

I myself am in the United States Air Force, my AFSC is Security Forces, and I protect national assets within a major command.

I'm considering enlisting in the United States Coast Guard for a few years once I graduate from high school. Still way, way unsure about it, though.

Coast Guard's pretty awesome. You get extensive training on diving and rescue, and that translates into lots of public safety jobs when you're out.

No. And as the military is a coercive force of the State, I encourage all to NOT serve in it unless they are going to be a hero like Bradley Manning.

United States Army National Guard, Illinois, MOS 91F10 Small Arms and Artillery Repairer, Full time job working in an armory taking care of weapon = pretty awesome. Working on a gunsmiths degree so I can reenlist active as a warrant officer.

What if they're someone who would like an opportunity to go to college and have a chance to be successful in life, but lost the genetic lottery and can't afford school?

In response to OP: I'm also enlisted in the US Air Force. Recently graduated from BMT with the 326th TRS, and from Electronic Principles class at Keesler with the 335th. Currently in an avionics class for the F-16 with the 365th at Sheppard, because a course for RPAs, my real airframe, does not currently exist.
