Classes I should take for my chosen career(s)?

freshman in college or freshman in highschool?

you dont need any college to be a police officer or a soldier. they train you.

but look into criminal justice if you want to advance faster in the police biz.

Take JROTC in highschool.

Then seek a criminal justice degree. I recommend Sam Houston State University, the police departments like it because it is in the South and the professors are not shy about teaching you how to skirt the edges of the Constitution. Also the military likes it because they have a solid ROTC program and then you can become an officer, most likely in the MPs.

actually, if you want to be in the police or military the most important thing you can do besides getting good grades is to work on your physical fitness. many many candidates are rejected because they cant pass the basic fitness requirements. (my sister in law almost failed the police academy because she couldnt "scale the wall".)

Seriously, it all depends on the specialty you want to take. The generic private needs just military training and that's all. If you want to become an officer, or a technical specialist, it really depends.

I completed a Stadium in 59 seconds. (Stadium: Basically run around the STADIUM, but twice!)

If you're wanting to be military you should take classes that can help you if you decide to get out. I went into the military thinking I'd do it as a career and then ended up getting out after my 4 year contract. You may be all gung ho and hooah right now but 4 years is a long time to rethink what you're after in life. Just think of it as constructing a defensible fall-back position, just in case. You may not need it but if you do you'll be glad you prepared for it.

There's also the fact that in 4 years you may not be interested in being police/army anymore. You'll change a lot in those 4 years of high school.

Yes, or livemocha, or find it outside school. Not sure about your location but over here there are quite some 'language centers' that offer a variety of languages. Ofcourse, at a price.
