How often would that circumstance occur?

I mean, even if the dead who would in theory consent to such behavior were a necrophilic themselves, why would they want to other than to give fellow necrophilic(s) the pleasure of doing so?

They technically couldn't feel said pleasure themselves--they'd be dead.

I suppose that's something else I'd like to know. If you find something immoral or wrong, what do you do about it?

Hopefully realize that people have a limited right to be wrong, and get on with you life .

That might be fine in many circumstances. But if something is legal that you find immoral or wrong, do you do nothing? I'm sure your answer will depend on what the 'something' is. That's what I want to know. Where is the line for you? You say 'limited right to be wrong'. Where, for you, are those limits? At what point would you act?

I don't think I ever do nothing when I believe something to be truly wrong, but I don't think the "something" one does should necessarily involve the law. So, for an easy example, if I found out one of my friends was cheating* on his or her spouse, I would probably yell at that friend and tell them they needed to be honest with their spouse and stop screwing around. I would certainly not think they ought to go to jail. I think people absolutely have the legal right to be douchebags, but that doesn't mean I'll support their douchebaggery or consider it particularly ethical.

*To prevent any angry poly people from yelling at me, it should be noted that having sex outside your relationship with your partner's consent is not, by any reasonable definition, "cheating."

That'll never do, they already stole it. I gave 'em the slip on account of I thought I'd get a free baseball card and some chewin gum outta' it.

We'll need to make a short 50s-70s sort of themed movie in which we go through perilous misadventures to discover the perfect cookie and/or other baking recipie(s), while finding out who we really are along the way--only to find the recipie was inside us all along, as I actually hid the recipie inside myself in case the movie didn't go far enough to be a worldwide hit.

I'd donate my body.

After I'm done using it.

Assuming I didn't die of some horrible disease that disfigures my genitals.

Any more, I mean.

For the same reason that people donate their bodies to be "plastified" or whatever you call it for that art\science exhibition that travels the world.

Because it's cool in a horrifying way, but this option is even sexier.

Generally it is disrespectful to do something to or with the dead that they would not approve of in life. Necrophilia does not permit the deceased to consent and thus is still immoral in most cases.

If on the other hand say your life long partner always wanted you to have sex with him/her one more time after he or she died... it would be really gross and kinda freaky but not immoral.

It is about respecting the dead. This theme seems to be common in all human cultures with "Desecration (whatever this implies depending on the culture)" of the dead being a sick thing to do.

edit: Your first post and your title have nothing at all to do with each other. Can you fix that?

Legal or illegal, it's still gross. But no one is harmed by it. If someone wants to do it, let 'em, but please don't tell me about it.

I'm sure costs and benefits have something to do with it, in line with my own personal preferences and things which I have been told not to do since I was a child. Or I might just be apathetic towards some things.

My Reaction?

Probably something along the lines of...

Ewwww...ew.ew.ew.ew.ew...

sorry, but thinking of all the 'health hazards' with copulating with a decaying person... and also the fact that you won't be sure how well the staff will wash her/him/it off...

otherwise, I just plain, won't visit such an establishment... even if they offered free booze.
on the other hand... I have another set of fingers.

Unscramble these words...1) PNEIS. 2)HTIELR 3) NGGERI 4) BUTTSXE
1) SPINE. 2) LITHER 3)GINGER 4)SUBTEXT

This is like saying that crack is legalized but "all health issues are dealt with." It's a nonsensical proposition on account of how ridiculously unsanitary it is to have sex with corpses.

I would think that it is gross. Also, I would think it was unethical unless the corpses involved had signed explicit agreements permitting this sort of behavior before they died.

A corpse is an object. It is not only incapable of consent, but incapable of being harmed by the lack of consent. Hence, I would not consider it any more unethical than "having sex" with a dildo.

I mean, it's somewhat weird, and I probably wouldn't do it myself, but I can't see how it would be an issue on any ethical level.

It's not "somewhat weird," sexual attraction towards dead humans is a sign of severe mental illness, and should not be incouraged. It's a lot more unethical than using a dildo and most people who have sex with corpses tend to be murderers. Do note that you can't acquire dildos by killing people.

There is also the public good to consider. Personally, you might want to raise children in a world where it's acceptable and tolerated to go to a bar and fuck human corpses. I don't. Most people don't.

And pretending a human body is just an object is just that - pretense. Human burial is one of the oldest signs of human sentience and people don't devote all this land and time to cemetaries and funerals just for the efficient disposal of "objects."
