Which Army are you going into? I can't seem to recall where you're from. If it's the US Army here's a bit of advice:

I saw a couple of otherwise smart dudes get confused by this when I went to basic training, so remember, when you're told to "beat your face" that means to do pushups, not to hit yourself in the face I just saved you several months of potential embarassment.

Also, when you go through the tear gas chamber do try to resist the urge to run around all crazy when you leave the chamber. There always seems to be a conveniently placed tree right outside of those things for you to run headfirst into when you're disoriented.

Shut up and don't be noticed. People want to be the best private and and we had some award we could win for that but that's just setting yourself up for failure. If you're the "top private" or whatever they called it that just means you'll get smoked twice as hard when you mess up. It's not like any of that basic training hhooah stuff follows you to your unit anyway.

Speaking of your unit, never, ever, ever, ever offer up a solution to a problem based on something you learned in basic training. Nobody cares what you learned in basic, nobody wants to hear it and they'll make fun of you for ages.
