With your proof being? Please, elaborate.
Everyone just runs in here and shouts "Oh X is better!" without actually giving a reason why. All the intelligent arguments are getting drowned out.

Tell me this:
Have you bothered to read any of the arguments presented in this thread?
Have you ever seen a Brute use intelligent tactics that didn't involve running at the enemy while firing from the hip?

The Opening of A New Hope and, Battle of Hoth are two. EU is chock full of a lot of them. Empire did wonders when they didn't have Han Solo or Skywalker present.

Clone troopers would be different. They're clones of Jengo, after all.
ALso I haven't seen any of the EU. I'm working entirely off of knowledge that I have.

And they would lose a lot in the process, while at the same time the Empire would be like "Meh." A single ship hitting it wouldn't be enough to kill the Death Star. It would take an entire fleet. The Empire can replace ships and men WAY more easily then the Covenant. And as I said before, Empire ships outclass Covenant by a long shot, as do their ground troops.

They can perform super-accurate slips. If they could get into that humongous area where the main reactor is, yes, they'd be destroyed, but the Death Star would explode. Do you know what slipspace is?Bone Fort wrote:

Yes. They've killed me a number of times using intelligent and effective tactics. And on another topic, who knows whether either sides shields would work on the other side's weapons? They weren't developed to fight them. In any case, I think Covenant energy projectors would dice Imperial ships like a side of pork, and then their plasma torpedoes(which can be guided....say...down an exhaust port?) would cook the little pieces.
This is extremely silly to be arguing about.

Alright then.
Yes, I have seen a Brute kill things (I've played Halo, read up on the EU), and I have seen stormtroopers kill things. A lot.
First movie, they board the ship and massacre the Rebels in seconds, they lost some guys but killed way more, and that battle involved them running through a bottle neck one at a time with a bunch of enemies pouring fire into the one door they had to run through. It was a battle that had the stormtroopers running through narrow hallways at enemies firing from behind cover. They won and took much less losses then the Rebels.
The reason they missed so much was because all the other times they were firing at the main characters in a Hollywood production. Look at every time they don't and go at someone else. They massacre the generic faceless Rebels.
And even the Ewoks it was because they were ambushed by a force of small, hard to hit creatures that blended in with the environment and knew the terrain better then them. There was well over a hundred Ewoks and maybe forty-ish stormtroopers, and the Ewoks were backed by a Special Forces unit. Immediately after the shock of the ambush wears off, they begin to massacre the Ewoks, and only lose when more ambushes happen.

They don't kill the main character much because they are fighting against a super soldier. In fact, they're absolute killing machines against normal marines.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. Every other time they get in the fight against someone that isn't the main character or some super-powered Force User or mega killer robot (like IG-88) or super species that's biologically nigh unkillable (Durge, for instance), they kick ass. The Empire didn't get to become the major superpower in the galaxy simply because they wanted to, they had the muscle to back it.

Also, this should be in A&F if I recall correctly.
