I personally think that it should be used in serious cases like murder, rape and child molestation.

I think state sanctioned premeditated murder is the ultimate form of hypocrisy.

1) It's horrifyingly expensive. Seriously you could house two inmates for life on what it costs to fry one.
2) As a deterrent, it isn't.
3) Ethically it's dubious for any of a dozen reasons.
4) I don't like the idea of murder by popular vote.

In favour, as there are certain people that should never be allowed back into society and would just be a waste of resources to keep in prison.

Maybe it wouldn't be so expensive if we didn't let them sit on death row for 15-20 years. Give them 4 chances to appeal the case, if no new evidence or prosecutor mistakes are revealed after 4 tries, its not going to happen.

The death penalty should not be considered an option for any reasonable, civilized society.

ask moderation about reading serious moderation candidates TGs without telling them about it until afterwards and/or apparently refusing to confirm/deny the exact timeline of TG reading ~~~ i hope you never sent any of the recent mods or the ones that got really close anything personal!

I oppose the death penalty in all cases. I'd prefer life imprisonment for the worst criminals.

Better to let them live years of torment and guilt than offering them an easy way out early on.

Never. Because the only reason it still exists is that it's cheaper than a lifetime prison sentence.

Strongly support it in principle for any mentally sane adult who commits a seriously violent crime, such as rape or murder.

Oppose it in practice because of biased convictions and the possibility of mentally ill, innocent or non-adult persons being executed.

Fully opposed. Innocent people could be executed for a crime they may of not done. This is why we must also abolish life sentences as well. How many people who have been given life sentences have died in prison over the many years? I don't want to even think about it honestly, it will make me tear up.
