While I am not native to the US, I have lived here for four years so I don't know about other schools but in my World history class we talked about the Eastern front in WWII extensively, including the Soviet capture of Berlin. We also learnt about British involvement in D-Day. In my US history class we learnt about North Vietnam capturing the South and the US retreat, we learnt about the Korean war and we weren't taught the US won. Britain and France were not made out to be weak, and had they been I'd have spoken up in class. We were taught that the US went to war because they thought the Maine was attacked by the Spanish but that we now know it was not.We never covered the war of 1812, it was covered the year before I moved to the US.
