so he would rather be dependent on others to take care of his own? yeah, I got that quite a few posts back. It's really sad actually.
As it would turn out, humans are tribalistic creatures, and while taking care of your own is necessary, ignoring the needs of everyone else is an unnecessary evil that humanity faces, and it's outright selfishness.

Indeed. That is why I will stand up and help my neighbor defend his own.

Yes I do. Yes you should. This is the standard imposed by law on licensed arms dealers: that they check whether the buyer is a legal buyer.
You sold guns to people without knowing whether or not they were criminals? You just assumed they were legally qualified to own a gun "due to statistics"?
Such incompetence should be illegal.
If someone knowingly sells a gun to a criminal, it is no longer a transaction involving a responsible gun owner, but one between two criminals.
Personally, once I own a gun, I do not sell it.

That's better. You admit that an owner who sells without checking, bears some of the responsibility for crimes later committed with that gun.
Not enough for me: I would have them criminal for selling without checking, and punished if that was proved, whether or not any crime was committed with the gun.
But I'll give you the nod for acknowledging culpability in at least some cases.Personally, once I own a gun, I do not sell it.
That's kind of weird. Are there any circumstances under which you would give a gun you own as a gift?

ITT: Not having access to FBI databases equals incompetence.

I would purchase a gun as a gift, but the number of people I would give such a gift to are very few and I know them very well.
