Some people that don't understand history wouldn't see my point (assuming that you don't know history). History repeats itself. Like the british taxed the tea so that was one of the many thing we went war for. Same understanding but didn't stuff (change tea to guns). We can go to war for many things: like foreign war, civil war, protest, etc.

Still not getting your point.

Yes, revolutions have happened throughout history, and are likely to happen again in the future. What bearing does that have here?

Well when over 50% of the states file a lawsuit against the federal government in response to Obamacare, it is hard to say the 10th Amendment hasn't been violated.

Are you under the impression that anyone who files a lawsuit is correct in doing so?

Are you not aware that the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled on that lawsuit? They upheld the most controversial part of (and the majority of) the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, but did find part of it unconstitutional.

Does the fact that states recently sued the federal government in federal court, got fair hearings, won at various stages of the litigation, and ultimately won (in part) not provide evidence (100% contrary to your assertions) that we are not under threat of tyranny?

So if people want to succeed from the union and the commie hippies are cheering for bombing them into the ground, running them over with tanks, or having the secret service kill the succeession supporters, this somehow makes the successionists violent?

I am so freaking tired of people supporting something they can't even spell. The word is "secession", with an "e" and only one "c". Every time you call it "succession", you reveal just how litle you know about the topic, as you clearly haven't done any reading on it except by other internet Neo-Confederates who can't spell.

Also, stupidity and ignorance repeat themselves.

So, yes. Bad things happen. Governments sometimes are oppressive. Sometimes people go to war or kill each other. Sometimes this war or killing is bad -- although whether a specific instance is wrong often depends on who you ask.

But bad things done by people often have common denominators: irrationality, stupidity, and ignorance.

Draw any inferences?

I think he's very incoherently trying to argue that banning guns would inevitably lead to mass attempted secession and he's trying to make an analogy between banning guns and the stamp acts, which (as far as I know) led to the American Revolution.

How does protesting ever equate to war?

Oh nevermimd. Ah yes, I remember reading about the American civil war in which the confederates and unionists gathered at Fort Sumter and yelled at each other for four years.

I'm sure there was plenty of yelling at each other:
"Charge!"
"Fire!"
"Ready the cannons!"
"Medic!"

You know, things like that.

Yeah...'cause Sweden and Japan are such crime-ridden shitholes...

Sweden is predominantly irreligious... But has high levels of gun ownership.

Japan is really only moderately irreligious about the same as most of Europe but has very low gun ownership.

That is to say, I'm not seeing the connection between the two. More irreligious than the US, doesn't really mean anything, it's like being more irreligious than the Pope. Likewise, owning less guns than the US, like owning less Papal robes.

I would suggest it's more likely both nations high levels of education, social security nets and cultural values (which in Sweden's case are predominantly Christian).
