As the second was written, yes.

Not according to the majority in District of Columbia v. Heller.

SCOTUS wrote:Like most rights, the Second Amendment right is not unlimited. It is not a right to keep and carry any weapon whatsoever in any manner whatsoever and for whatever purpose: For example, concealed weapons prohibitions have been upheld under the Amendment or state analogues. The Court’s opinion should not be taken to cast doubt on longstanding prohibitions on the possession of firearms by felons and the mentally ill, or laws forbidding the carrying of firearms in sensitive places such as schools and government buildings, or laws imposing conditions and qualifications on the commercial sale of arms. Miller’s holding that the sorts of weapons protected are those “in common use at the time” finds support in the historical tradition of prohibiting the carrying of dangerous and unusual weapons. Pp. 54–56.

Then why can I buy one if I have the change? As of now, I can legally buy a tank, or a fighter jet if I have the money.

I bet you can't buy one with active weaponry. Where can you buy such things?

intellectual dishonesty is reprehensible. This is a conversation about weapons, you can not buy an armed plane or tank.

From the angelfire page: "The retail price for an M1A1 is approximately $4.3M, but they aren't exactly available to the public. If you act now, you can have the chance to bid on this incredible piece of machinary in a once in a lifetime opportunity. Bidding will begin on January 1, 2005 at 12 noon approximately 50 miles soutb-southwest of Algiers, Algeria. Bidders must be present, meaning in person. Bidding will begin at $2.5M, but is expected to run much higher. Ammunition and the tank's crew is not included, but we will provide free transportation for the tank's lucky winner and this 65 ton beast." Right, good luck bringing an armed M1A1 into the US.

Yes, you can. The ammo is the restricted part. You can still get it if you pass the background and pay the tax along with the price tag.

No, but the point of this little sequence was someone's declaration that as long as you weren't a felon, you could buy whatever weapons you want, tanks, jet fighters, etc.

The only guns I saw referenced on those pages were dummies or replicas. Show me one that says it has fully-functional weaponry, all you have to do is acquire the ammo and you're good to go defending yourself against the oppression to come. Some don't mention weapons but I would be very surprised if you can buy any such thing.

This M-24 Chaffee as the photos show has been beautifully refurbished on the exterior. The interior is un-restored but In excellent original condition. It runs and everything functions.

Maybe. I have my doubts about what "Everything functions" means. There was the German WWII 37 MM Anti Tank Gun that says the same thing, but again, let the buyer beware.

Regardless, the Supreme Court said in DC v. Heller that your Second Amendment rights do not including owning any weapon whatsoever for any reason whatsoever or to take it anywhere you want. I should ask you to cite the relevant laws that allow the possession of a "fully functional" armored fighting vehicle.

There are no laws against it, so there doesn't need to be a law allowing it. Most things in life do not have laws that allow you to do/own things. We have laws to prevent, not to allow.

And for the record, if the Supreme Court rules something to be constitutional then it is, regardless of what you or anyone else may say.

Oh,but of course, when it comes to SCOTUS' ruling that the Constitution protects the individual right to own and bear arms, then it's not OK because it conflicts with their world view,so they say that the justices were Conservative or give them some other bull. Hypocrisy much?

The second amendment does not give you the right to whatever weapon suits your fancy. I am a gun advocate, but there's a difference between sport and just flat out unreasonable. Because what in the SAM HELL are you going to do with a nuclear weapon? Blow up the moon? Shoot down an alien spaceship? Make horrible love to it? I challenge you to provide a reason of why you'd need an IBCM or any form of Nuclear Missile.

I'm fucking tired with this stupid argument.

Taking the Constitution as it is,yes, banning any sort of weapon is indeed infringing.

Now,do you see us pushing for ICBM rights or gun rights? Thought so.

What would things have been like if every security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive? Or if during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? The Organs would quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt!

Wait, you too?

Remember, this is about gun ownership. Whether I can own a stripped down shell of a fighter jet to proudly keep on my front lawn is irrelevant. Are you seriously, really, honestly trying to tell me that it's perfectly legal for a private citizen to own and operate an operational and armed strike fighter?

Is this really, truly, the proposition you're trying to sell me on? Do you think I'm that fucking stupid?

Or are you just incapable of remaining on topic?

Pathetic.
