Most Jews were kicked out in 70 A.D. But there has always been a Jewish population in Israel for the past thousands of years.

The Jews were devastated by the Diaspora. Sassanid? THe Arab invaders then took control until about a thousand years a go when the Palestinians took over what is today called Israel and Jordan.
