U.S. military allows women in combat

Postby Iowa the Nation » Wed Jan 23, 2013 2:13 pm

http://security.blogs.cnn.com/2013/01/2 ... ?hpt=hp_c1

Let me be upfront and warn you that what I have to say about this will not be politically correct. A passage from the report reads:

"The Army and Marine Corps, especially, will be examining physical standards and gender-neutral accommodations within combat units."

Why on earth would something like this be gender neutral? We only want the best defending our nation, and most men can't meet the standards - let alone women. The fact is that women are not wired for war; they are not as strong or aggressive as men. And, of course, what happens when male soldiers are suddenly fighting next to female ones? It complicates matters horribly.

I'm sorry, I don't see any good that could come from this.

Which explains why there are no female FBI agents.

But what is the cost of equality, lowering standards for soldiers?

Hey, I know plenty of aggressive women.

Meaning that only in the most positive way, of course.

Not according to Israel. Or domestic police forces.
And I'm inclined to side with them on this. This "females aren't wired for it" BS just hasn't held up in practice.

Your source says nothing about lowering standards.

It can't possibly be that you're just making shit up, so please show me where you are getting this information.

If there's anything I like about conscription in Israel, it's that it provides some level of equality.

I served with some women who I'd rather have with me than half of the men I served with. Also, this whole "women aren't wired for war" biotruths is a load of crap.
