Barack Obama: 4 Years In Review

Postby Swordishaw » Sun Jan 20, 2013 5:26 pm

Barack Obama's Presidencial Grade:

Foreign Policy: A-, The patriot act, F.I.S.A., and Guantanamo bay were all kept in place mirroring his predecessor George W. Bush in those aspects this tells me George W. Bush was correct in his legislation and proof of its effectiveness. The killing of usama bin laden, mammar quadaffi, and anwar allaqui give this president an A- for Foreign policy.

Economy: F-, Unemployment remains relatively high, considering Bush left with a 7.6% Unemployment rate and the current unemployment is above 8.5% while the U.S. debt continues to grow out of control at a current amount of 16.47 Trillion dollars, and the government stimulus was seen as an abject failure by most of the U.S. economist such as Neil Cavuto and Hubert Humphrey and had very little effect on the economy considering unemployment remains higher than it was under Bush, while economic growth continues to be very little leaving some to believe that the nation is still not out of the recession they were in four years ago.

Overall Presidential Grade Performance: D-, which is overall not bad, but below average, okay to say the least.

Oh, yeah, I forgot to say.

And they'll never, ever, have to pay a penny for her treatment.

The 19th century called, they want their social darwinism back.

And that's among the biggest loads of bullshit EVER.

We're hardly in a world where "whatever happens happens". Companies pollute the waters, frack the land, poison the air. Yet people need to pay for their own healthcare to get past these.

If you get hit by someone else in a car accident, the payout from the insurance doesn't always cover the medical costs you may incur, specially if its a serious accident. If you work hard for a company for 20 years, and they outsource/downsize, and you lose your insurance and your savings can't cover it, that's somehow your fault?

We don't live in some disconnected world (ironic, given your comment about neighborly). Its an interconnected world, we're an interconnected people. Nothing is just "my problem" or "your problem".

I think that's the funnest part of these online debates. No matter how much certain people whine and complain, they still lose in real life because progress cannot be stopped. Quite fun.

Protip: The U.S. media doesn't determine success of economic policies, economists do.

Nope, it cushioned the fall of the recession quite adequately.

I broke my spine in a fall. Thankfully, I wasn't paralyzed. I waited over six hours for an x-ray, and when I finally got it, turns out that I broke two vertebra, and I needed emergency surgery to prevent serious damage.

Why did it take so long to get the care? Because the hospital was dicking around with my insurance provider who had a series of gaffes on their end. Turns out they 'lost' my information, including info on my copay info and beneficiary info (being a 20-year old college student, I had no beneficiary, sans parents, and maybe my sisters).
