Not necessarily. These days a lot of people have recreational sex. Sometimes, during said intercourse, an accident happens. That accident causes a fetus to being to grow in the mother's uterus. However, the mother never intended on having a baby. Is it really so wrong that she has a choice with what happens to her body?

Morally I'm opposed to abortion: I think a mother should take responsibility. However, on a rational level I think people should, above all, have the choice. It's much crueler to give birth to a baby that will be unloved and resented for most of its life than to kill a number of cells that cannot think or feel pain.

Not really. A fetus can't survive on its own. Technically, it is in a parasitic relationship with the host creature.

That said, I tend to argue for abortion on social grounds. If a woman doesn't want a baby, why would you feel entitled to force that on her, knowing fully the pain you are forcing her to go through, the money you are forcing her to spend, the years of her life you are forcing her to throw away?
