Dream Films

Postby SaintB » Sun Oct 25, 2009 5:48 am

I'm always coming up with ideas for movies I would like to see/write/direct including casts and plots. This includes everything from movie rehashes to completely original films. So I decided to ask my favoriteist online community what movies they would dream about; here is one of mine.

Note this probably belongs in fiction but I posted it in general to get some attention.

The Odd Couple
This would be a movie rehash with an updated script and plot line with a more modern twist, it would have many more outside scenes with less focus on the apartment life they share. I would ideally like to cast Seth Rogan (Zack and Miri Make a Porno, Observe and Report) as Oscar and Steve Correl (Get Smart, 40 Year Old Virgin, The Office (US Version)) as Felix. I also think that there would be several other actors whom would be good as alternates for the two main characters; for Felix: Ben Stiller, Cuba Gooding Jr. (Why not a black Felix?!) or Peter dante; and for Oscar: Vince Vaughn, Kevin James, Adam Sandler, or Bruce Willis.
My Plot: Felix Unger, is an editor for a sports magazine, a mild mannered hypochondriac with a neat and fastidious personality, finds himself homeless when a fight with his wife leads to divorce proceedings. He moves in with his friend from work Oscar Madison; whom is a renowned sports analyst for the same magazine. Unlike Felix, Oscar is slovenly, outgoing, and has been divorced for some time. Hilarity ensues.
Story: Felix learns how to take control of his life with help from Oscar who himself realizes through Felix how he has been hiding from his own problems with booze, women, and crazy antics. In the end both Oscar and Felix have gained a new confidence in life and while Felix reconciles with his wife Oscar cleans up his act and becomes an active participant in the life of his child whom he's neglected for years.

Or something like that...

I have many more but lets see what other people from NS have!

It was just the way things worked on the frontier. Civilian massacres and misdirected reprisals were how European settlers and American tribes said "Hello." And then they gave smallpox to everything, because that was how you said "Goodbye."
Stuck somewhere between high school and old school.
Here's some bullshit I write. Maybe you want to read it?

I would love to see:
A 007 movie directed by Spielberg
Sergio Leone's Stalingrad (he died while working on the plot, dammit!)

a movie from Allen Steele's The Tranquillity Alternative, with Harrison Ford playing Gene Parnell
Asimov's Caves of Steel, possibily with Jude Law playing Daneel
a series from Asimov's Lucky Starr

and a decent rendering of The Silmarillion, The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings into a longish series - let's say 60 hours for Silmarillion, 12 hours for Hobbit and 30 hours at least for The Lord of The Rings. AND KEEPING TO THE BLOODY TEXT.

Did you here they are doing something on the time between the Hobbit and LOTR, or something like that? The Silmarillion should be made into a movie for every story in it, or maybe a TV series.

The Ultimate Action Film
Litterally intended to be non stop action, the movie would also be a comedy parodying all of the classic action movie scenarios of sex, violence, and explosions. Complete with kickass soundtrack and packed with as many action stars as the budget will allow.
Lead Players: Jason Stathem and Ryan Reynolds as themselves. With appearances by Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Samuel L. Jackson, Mila Jovavich, Bruce Willis, Clint Eastwood, the Ghost of John Wayne, and many many many more....
Plot: In an alternate dimension all action films are made by one single conglomerate of action stars known as ActionCorp. Jason Stathem is being promoted to Vice President of Asskickery but first he has to groom his replacement for his current job as Junior Executive; Ryan Reynolds who has just been promoted from mail room clerk and picked to fill the shoes of his new mentor personally by the CEO (Either Stallone, or Schwarzenegger)
Story: Everything explodes.

They already made that film. It's called Shoot-Em-Up.

I'd like a Starship Troopers movie that's actually based on the book.

My dream film? A film where we find out what happened the Monday after the events in The Breakfast Club (with the entire original cast, the same ages as they were in TBC - this is a dream film, after all), or a modern-day sequel to TBC where the characters from the original meet again at a high school reunion, and we find out what happened with them during the past 20+ years.
This nation does NOT reflect my RL views.

I lived better without this notion, thank you a bundle - expecially since there's NOTHING "between Hobbit and LOTR". It's Peter "I suck at reading a book so I'll put in the script some random idiocies I invented" Jackson again? I hope he dies. Painfully. Possibily at the hands of Orcs.

The Silmarillion should be made into a movie for every story in it, or maybe a TV series.

I was thinking of something like Heimat and Heimat 2: a TV series, but on the level of a good film.

The only way it would ever work on film is if you gave it to HBO and made a mini-series out of it. No other way to include what's needed without screwing it all up due to time constraints.

I think you could probably do it in 12 to 15 hour long episodes.

I would like to see "Awesome-Team". Just like A-Team, but with Schwarzy, Van Damme, Jackie Chan and Wesley Snipes. They team up to kick Chuck Norris' ass. And fuckin' win! (And everything explodes, of course).

Lagaan.

It's an awesome film, and it's so long it's on two discs so it qualifies as an epic.

I would like to see Star Wars 7-9 made.

And just for the sake of it, I would like to see a movie of StarWars vs. StarTrek. Directed by Spielberg. Where StarWars wins.

I know, I nearly choked when I heard about it, kind of wish I had. Hopefully they don't go through with it.
