The PlayStation 4

What are your thoughts of the PlayStation 4??? Will it be better than PS3??? Or worse??? What will it look like???

Personally i think the PS4 will be a screen (TV like) with the PS4 system build in. But because i don't follow the PS4 i just don't know what its going to look like;.

Also, what do you think about GTA V or Battlefield 4??? Will they come out for the PS4 and PS3 or will Rockstar and EA try to let us buy a PS4???

It's the obscene price tags that are the problem. It'll be many years before I can afford a computer that can play Rome 2: Total War once it's released I'm guessing.

From what I've seen, PC game requirements have pretty well plateaued. My computer at home is four or five years old, still works perfectly fine for everything. There are only so many shiny graphics they can create I suppose. Hopefully we'll outgrown the childish graphics race anyway and remember than ugly with good gameplay trumps pretty POS.

I think it will turn your entire room into a console using motion sensors and you'll have to jump from sofa to sofa instead of pressing buttons.

Gameplay is king, I agree.

But it's not childish to want to appreciate the aesthetics of a game, which adds to the overall experience in my view. The more realistic Rome 2 (for instance) looks, the better. I mean check out 7:00 afterwards on HD. The whole gameplay experience would be of a poorer quality there if they used the same graphics they used for the first Rome: Total War game. The graphics race is a great thing.

I doubt there will be a PS4. The only difference between the PS3 and the PS2 (and the PS1 for that matter) is power. Other than that, they're effectively identical, and with the way things are now, it's already far too powerful for the game designers to handle with any efficiency. It costs a fuck-ton to produce a game because they all have to have the best graphics possible, which is why game developers only pile money into franchizes that they know sell. There are no unique titles anymore because not a single developer can afford the risk. If the game doesn't sell, they go bankrupt, and not only are game developers afraid of making anything new but the players are afraid of buying anything new. Everyone is just content to wallow in stagnance.

In short, unless Sony wants to simply make everything worse for everyone, they won't release another system as it would most certainly be nothing more than another powerboost which would raise the cost of game development even further, wringing even more creativity out of the medium and causing games to become even more rehashed and tired than they already are. Same thing with, X-box. Unless their new consoles actually provide some real innovation while maintaining the same level of power, they should just not even make them.

How much did the PS3 cost at launch? Too fucking much, I still don't own one because I can't justify the expense. How much are people willing to spend for a toy?

Can't stand the consoles at the moment. No fresh interesting games and I don't really like the controller at the moment. I'm done with them. They'd have to pull a miracle out the bag to make me interested and I very much doubt they would be able too.

first off its called Xbox Next not 720.... The PS4 will probably be alot like the PS3. it'll have internal storage probably with an SSD rather than HDD. it'll have a dual core processor and a couple gigs of ram. Of course it will have to have a bluray player. The video card will be good, idk which one exactly. Overall it'll probably be the equivalent to a midgrade computer. Also, since Sony has cut all PS2 production and is greatly cutting PS3 production, and many Sony owned studios "aren't" busy like they should be the PS4 will probably be announced this year.
