Kudos.

How would you recommend I precede in order to discover all of the intricacies? I appreciate your kind attention.

Lurk for a while. Eventually you'll find a thread or a post that really irks you. Click off of it thinking, "No way, man. I'm not getting into this." Scan the first three pages of general again, notice that the thread that irked you has new posts. "Reluctantly" click on it, find that you're still annoyed.
Go check Arts & Fiction. Maybe Moderation. Find nothing, come back to General. See that the thread has more new posts. Be still annoyed. Click on General. Go get a glass of water and a snack while stewing on the subject. Come back, find that still more posts are there. Realize it's too late because you mentally constructed your post while at the fridge and yet another person posted the same stupid thing that set you off to begin with.
Make your post, complete with links and clever wording and an authoritative reference to why that stupid thing is wrong. Hit 'submit.' Go back to general. Refresh the page to see if someone posted in the Awesome Quotes thread, saving your post for posterity. Refresh again, maybe it's taking them some time.
Pretend you don't care, go back to Arts & Fiction, realize that forum barely moves. Come back. Notice that Awesome Quotes is on the front page again, find out that it's some weird roleplay joke that's been posted that you don't understand. Go back to General. See that there is a response in the thread that irked you.
Look at it. See that it's someone who quoted you and accused you of a logical fallacy they clearly don't understand and replaced most of your post with the words "blah blah blah". Start the process over again. Nine years later, wonder if you could have spent this time teaching yourself cello.

Jabberwock, how much do you weigh?
Well, I'm pretty tall for a girl. I played power forward in basketball and let's just say I have an extra twenty lbs. or so in my ass. I'd go for a rump roast if I were you.

Worked for me anyway.
And look up what communism, capitalism, and socialism are by actual definition. It will save you from pages of flames.
Seriously, actual pages of flames.

) but yeah, this is a little bit of a chatty thread rather than one with a directed topic, so I'm gonna have to lock it.
