Not really, I'm fine with people believing their magic sky faerie has a hand in the process (though I think its both ridiculous and unnecessary), what I have a real problem with is the people who ignorantly deny that evolution is real.

This is a few months old, but someone showed this to me today, and I was shocked.

Only 15% of Americans fully believe in evolution. 46% reject it outright. And the latter number has risen by 6% from the year before.

These are the sort of things that make me embarrassed to be American. This is 2013, not 1500. You would think that by now, most people would be able to accept basic science. I feel like if the religious right isn't stopped soon, we could be almost a theocracy in 20 or 30 years. Hopefully, something can change drastically. However, it's an understatement to say that I'm more than a little worried about the future of my country.

See I'd love to follow this study up with another one: Do you have something to occupy your time with all day that precludes you from sharing your opinion?

Because I'm willing to bet the reason that more respondents who answered that poll were able to do so because they don't have anything better to do than to wait around at home and answer polling questions. I'm willing to bet that the people who believe scientific evidence supports the theory of evolution more readily than they do a metaphor for the origin life are vastly under-represented in these polls because they have better things to do, like go to work, spend time with their families and friends, donate their time to charitable causes, go to classes at their local college to enrich their lives, and other manner of things that actually benefit their communities as opposed to answer a poll.

When the evidence backs one theory demonstrably over the other one, answering a poll to confirm the evidence feels sort of unnecessary.

By adaptionist you no doubt mean creature adapting to their environment, this happens over a very very long time. Creatures often do this by evolving, how strange, it's like you believe in the conclusion but not the premise or something.
