By the way, are you a goalie in real life? Just wondering, because you seem to favor Marty.

no thats me.
ironically I learned how to play goalie by watching a combination of Marty, Roy, and Hasek

I played goalie too, in our City League. We played outdoors, on the park pond. Freezing! Years later I finally got my deviated septum repaired; I stopped too many shots with my face.

Gotta have a great goalie if you want to compete. As a pens fan I still think Fleury is great, although he has to adapt to getting platooned.

I'd have to say top goalies are: Price, Fleury, Quick, Lundqvist, and Luongo.

Top 5 who play well despite poor defense.

Probably for now.

For All-Time, my all-time top Goaltenders would be:
Roy, Brodeur, Dryden, Plante, Hasek, Sawchuk.

And for some fun facts associated with them:

-Half of them are from Quebec(Roy,Brodeur,Plante)
-Half of them played a significant portion of their career in Montreal Canadiens(Roy,Dryden,Plante)
-All of them won at least 2 Stanley Cups(Roy:4,Brodeur:3,Dryden: whopping 6 in 8 seasons, Plante:6, Hasek:2, Sawchuk:4)

Hasek is my favourite. He can literally do anything to stop the puck. He should have won the Cup in 1999 with Buffalo.

A freshly sharpened skate blade, which I would wager every NHLer has before a game, can oftentimes cut through the boot of the skate if it hits with enough force. Slicing through some cotton, neoprene, skin and muscle, is no challenge for a fast moving blade of steel.

In other news, Iggy is definitely going to be traded. Healthy scratch tonight. Most likely going to end up in LA, Boston, or Chicago.

[EDIT] Aaaaaand he's reported to be going to Boston.

[EDIT2] Aaaaaand he's actually been traded to Pittsburgh.

Iggy deserves a cup before he retires. He isn't going to get one in Calgary, and that is the unfortunate truth. He had a no-trade clause in his contract, and he waived it so he could get a shot at Stanley this year.

They might be idiots, a case could be made for that. But they aren't being assholes.

I'm good with the Bruins, and normally dislike Pittsburgh on principal, but now I have to root for them simply because Iggy's got virtually every award he can, except for a Stanley Cup. He should have gotten it in the Flames '03-'04 Cup run (which I still hold they won in Game 6, despite the referees being total fucking boneheads), and he didn't. This could be his last chance at Stanley before he retires.

As much as I hate to say it...

Well if their trade returns are to believed, there isn't much of a drop in talent from Iginla to Morrow and finally Douglas Murray.

I think you can find your way around that if you figure that Feaster thought that in Hanowski he was just reacquiring Jankowski and that Agostino was a luxury meatball panini.

1. You know that he's the Flyers fan. What did you expect?
2. Pens lost to Toronto earlier in 5-2, and only won in a shootout against Toronto since then.
3. You obviously forgot about Toronto having regular success under Clark, Gilmour and Sundin in 1990s andthe beginning of 2000s, until that bloody lockout of 2005.

Why trying to shut me up when what I said was true? Toronto is by all means, allowed. Just because MLSE is a very greedy organisation that's only interested in making money, that doesn't mean that others(and sometimes teams that are owned by MLSE) aren't allowed to have good, championship teams...
You also forgot Toronto Argonauts(who just won the 100th Grey Cup in home) and Toronto Rock. So, what you have said was ridiculous. It could've worked of you replacd T Dot with MLSE...

I do enjoy humour. But it's just that I did not appreciate yours by all means. It's kinda hard to see and try to figure out whether your words were humour or not, because I'm unable to identify whether it is or not, in the cyberspace.
Besides, it slightly offended me, a Leafs supporter(and yes. I Live in the Leafland).
