I don't mind the proposed realignment, though having the Red Wings-Blackhawks rivalry diminished a bit sucks. They just needed to swap Winnipeg and Columbus.

I don't really like it. It went overboard and still lacks sense in certain areas.

1. I don't think Saskatchewan could host an NHL team. Of course they have a very dedicated fanbase(which is shown in their extreme support towards the provincial CFL team the Saskatchewan Roughriders) but at the same time, there simply isn't enough population to sustain 15,000-20,000 crowds per game for 42 times in a year. That goes the same, if not further, for Thunder Bay(Northwestern Ontario) and Sudbury(northwest of T Dot). Despite with great fanbase, there simply aren't enough population on those cities and surrounding areas.
2. Why Oklahoma City?
3. I personally have nothing against Sharks and Capitals staying in heir respective venues. They are selling well, with dedicated owner. I wish that the Kings would move instead of Sharks and for Ducks..... Bye bye!
4. I liked the fact about how you letted Avs to stay.

My proposed league alignment would be this(with the names I created for the relocated teams):

Western Conference

Division A
Vancouver Canucks
Seattle Blizzard(from L.A.Kings)
San Jose Sharks
Calgary Flames
Edmonton Oilers
Colorado Avalanche

Division B(Central)
Minnesota Wild
St.Louis Blues
Chicago Blackhawks
Hamilton Tigers(from Anaheim Ducks)
Detroit Red Wings
Winnipeg Jets

Eastern Conference
Division C(Northeast)
Boston Bruins
Hartford Whalers(from NY Islanders)
Buffalo Sabres
Montreal Canadiens
Ottawa Senators
Quebec Nordiques(from Phoenix Coyotes)
Toronto Maple Leafs

Division D
NY Rangers
NJ Devils
Pittsburgh Penguins
Philadelphia Flyers
Washington Capitals
Nashville Predators
Tampa Bay Lightning/Florida Panthers

Teams to be contracted:
Columbus Blue Jackets
Dallas Stars
Carolina Hurricanes
Tampa Bay Lightning/Florida Panthers

This would lead to the improvements of talents in the league. Yes.There is an issue with the imbalance of numbers between Western and Eastern Conferences but this could be mended by moving either Toronto Maple Leafs or Buffalo Sabres to Central Division.

Because Southern California clearly doesn't have a big enough hockey fan base to support a team.

I don't really care about the realignment at this point. What I do care about is that my Bruins just dropped two straight against Pittsburgh >:(

A lot of teams in both conferences are pounding on the door of the top eight positions, so nothing is set in stone and there is still plenty of time to blow it.

What's the matter with Here come the Hawks? (which was written in the 60's by the way).

Besides if you don't like that, there's always Dum da duh, Dum da duh, Dum dah duh da da da!
Such a fun song, even the Canucks like it!...well some more than others, but SECRETLY they do.

I went by total number of points, and probabilities. Devs have 32 to NY's 28. Sens have 36, to Isles' 29. Canes 32 - Pants have 20. Preds and Jackets have 28 apiece, but Preds have a stronger line up. Habs had 42, vs 24; Pens 44 vs Caps 25, and Pens usually beat Caps. Bruins 41 - Jets 32. Blues 34, Nucks have 32, but a stronger line up, and it's just 2 points, a single game. Kings have 34 to Yotes' 30.

So, unless there's 2 points or less difference, which is the case only twice, I went for the most points. Else, I went for the better team. I didn't even bother looking at your picks, when I made mine.
