I don't want after the whistle shit. I want it to be a normal hockey play along the boards.

Horton knows he's going to get a few shoves to the shoulder. If he doesn't then he is playing the wrong game.

I just think wishing ill will on someone is uncool in general, but your right, it is hockey. I hope your wish is not granted though, mainly because I want this to be a great series and both teams need to be healthy for this to happen.

I'm not so much wishing ill on him so much as just hoping he can be kept out of the game as a non factor. Given his point production in the playoffs, can you really blame me? I'm certain Bruin fans would say the same thing if we were talking about Hossa, Kane, or Sharp.

Besides, the way Horton injured himself was really dumb. Don Cherry may be one of the biggest proponents of fighting in hockey, but even he ripped Horton for fighting with Iggy when he did so.

Alright, I admit it, I can't blame you at all, and quite frankly, I don't have TV at the moment, so I didn't actually know how he was injured (sports talk radio was not specific, during the time I was listening), so, he brought it on himself? May the best team win.

Only if it's ok to make fun of Bruins bandwagoners this year as well, because after the marathon bombings doubtless there are more than a few.

Cause here's the thing, those "casual" fans pay for a lot of stuff that us long-time fans enjoy. Stuff like stadium upkeep, player salaries, seating upgrades, things like that. Sure it sorta sucks when one can't get a ticket to a big event when the 'Hawks are doing well, but that's true of every sports team around here, even the Fire.

So you go ahead and keep hating the "bandwagon" fans. We'll be happy to take their money.

Never said I hated them, I just like asking them questions that they clearly don't know the answer to whilst their money is sucked up.

I'm assuming the guy bought one of those customizable ones from the NHL's site and put "Toews" on the back without bothering to put the ''C" on the front.

I despite that kind of bullshit. Play clean, win clean. It's hockey, finish yo checks, but don't deliberately injure someone, just cause he's good. I never liked goonish hockey, it seems pointless. I want be dazzled by puck handling, clean passing, nice scoring, and sometimes even grinding. But playing to injure, what the fuck?! I couldn't agree more. Going out and trying to injure another player, just to give your team an advantage, doesn't belong hockey (or any sport, for that matter).

Outskate, outplay, outlast. Play hard, play gritty, play smart. The best hockey to watch, and play, is a game where nobody dives, where nobody takes cheap shots, and where everyone plays their goddamn hearts out for the full sixty.

Not exactly sure why I get applause, but... thanks? :?

Honestly, I don't see any point to playing a sport if you aren't trying your hardest on every play, if you go out of your way to take cheap shots or hurt people, or if you try and sell the refs on things that aren't penalties.

Look at it logically. It makes no sense. Jackasses like Cooke/Marchand/etcetera get as many penalties as they draw, and inspire the other team to play harder as often as they put them off balance. They hurt their team as much as they help them. All their antics do is detract from the game. Diving is also pointless. If the refs are halfways decent, then they won't call anything, and then you've removed yourself from the play which hurts your team. And if you've pissed the refs off, then you'll get a penalty, which undeniably hurts your team.

Pulling stupid shit like that rarely results in a net benefit to your team. That some people do it anyways speaks more to their inability to match the talent or heart of the other players. They turn to it because they have little else to offer.

Besides, there's no better feeling than backchecking, full-tilt, and making a diving play to stop a breakaway. There's no better feeling than breaking out off the boards, battling through the D, and snapping the puck past the goalie. No better feeling than fighting along the boards for a full minute, drawing half their team in on your ass, and then sliding the puck into the slot to set your winger up for a beautiful one-timer.

You don't make those plays by taking cheap shots, or falling down when you feel sticks slashing your legs, or by headhunting. You make those plays by battling through the shit. By throwing yourself out on the wire simply because there's a chance, no matter how slim, that you might beat the other man to the puck. Hockey is about effort, skill, sacrifice and determination. It isn't about cheapshots and head hunting.
