Funny Songs

Postby Alleniana » Fri Jan 04, 2013 11:18 pm

This thread is basically about any funny songs you've heard/know of/etc.

You can post links too.
I like most of Wierd Al Yankovic's songs, like Fat, Eat it, Amish Paradise, Hardware Store, Party in the CIA, they're all pretty good. There's also Make Poop, London Underground, the assumption song. I've seen the Duck song, but it really doesn;t make me laugh.

All the songs by The Something Experience are pretty funny.
Here's just an example.

Just about anything by Tom Lehrer, the guy who did The Elements Song. I'd also like to mention that Weird Al considers him one of his influences.

Wikipedia and TVTropes pages.

The Hunting Song
The Irish Ballad
National Brotherhood Week
Pollution
Wernher von Braun
So Long Mom
We Will All Go Together When We Go

And, last but not least, my personal favorite: Poisoning Pigeons in the Park.

If it's Weird Al or Bob Rivers... it's almost certainly funny and a parody of another song. Of course, that is what they do best is making songs funny. The exception is Weird Al's Polkamon which was made for one of the Pokemon movies.

Why Don't You Get a Job? - The Offspring

A song based on the "perfect couple" of Ob-la-di Ob-la-da, except one person "wants more dinero just to stay at home" while the other is working hard.

And then there's Rock Lobster by the B-52's.

I like Jonathon Coulton's songs...like Re: Your Brains or Skullcrusher Mountain. And the Portal theme, which is the only reason I know who he is. But now that I know, cool.

The song in this short written and performed by my brother cracks me up, but the context is important.
"...I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season." -MLK Jr.

Loser by Beck is a hilarious song. That doesn't change the fact that it's totally awesome, though.

Yellow Submarine by The Beatles is a classic funny song.

Damnit, I forgot about that song.

Anyways, as I haven't actually said anything despite having posted, I'd say anything by Lemon Demon, Devin Townsend's Ziltoid the Omniscient album, Hard Rock Hallelujuah (more the fact that it won Eurovision than anything, still the WorldVision entry I have prepared for my country on NS is way more metal than that :P) and whatever the hell this is.
