If you do talk to her, your chances of dating her is well... a chance.

If you risk nothing, you gain nothing. Better to ask her out and get rejected than not even try.

Yup yup. And if you don't try, you'll beat yourself up saying "if only...".

Anyway, today's attempt went awry due to weather. I was the first one done with the test, which meant I was the first one out of the classroom,m so I went to the bathroom, went to get a soda, found the machine broken, stood around for ten minutes, and left after it felt like I was going to get frostbite in my ballsack (just as much fun as it sounds). Of course it was in the 50s with a windchill in the 40s.

Is that to say the freezing point of your tissues, which largely contain water, is quite above that of water? o.O

As I said, we're wimps when it comes to cold, It may not have actually been freezing, but it felt like it

Oi! You should go in every day, even if you don't have class. Study or whatnot in the library. Then chat-up girls you meet.

I don't know if it's applicable in your situation, but maybe you could use a bike? It has several benefits, it's cheap and it keeps you in condition :)

Yeah, after biking well over 20 miles through three cities, I would be in shape, and reminded why I like driving. I doubt that would be practical anyway, since I would have to stick to surface sreets, and I don't have a clue as to how to get to the college that way.

Bus service is in serious need of an expansion, and train service is limited to one route that goes through Ontario (the city, not the province), Not Rancho Cucamonga, which lies too far north.

Hmmm...do you live in an area where you have lots of stuff? Can you walk or drive a short distance to places where lots of shops and services are? If so, maybe you could go to coffee shops to study or something.

There are a number of coffe shops and such around herere, but the last thing I need is to be talking to people while high on caffeine. Makes me a different person.

I considered the library, where I volunteer, but I tend not to have any good opportunities to talk to people..

Cute geeky girls and libraries go together like kittens and fur. I know many awesome gorgeous chicks who work in libraries.

And at a coffee shop you can drink non-caffeinated things, no?

Honestly, first cahnce I chickened out. I tried to will myself to her, but my legs froze. Second chance never really opened up. We were getting in groups for our long term project today, and she ended up in another group. I waited around afterward, but there was quite the heated discussion on the project they would do. (her, again, standing away)

Two things I did learn:
1. Her name is Anna
2. She is very shy, possibly worse than me in that dept. (she kinda stood away from her group, and she like me was one of the people who wanted to be assigned a group. Wish I knew she was behind me at the time)

Knowing these things kinda relaxed me, at the worst moment, when I couldn't get to her.

Dude! If she's shyer than you, then you can win her! (Assuming she wants to date.) You don't have to feel threatened, so you can be the guy who pays attention to her. Many people don't pay attention to shy girls. The ones who do get them. You now know that you are in a position where you have more strength and courage, so use it! You need to make the chance to go meet her. Why don't you sit near her in class? Are there assigned seats or something?

No there aren't assigned seats but people will get annoyed with you if you take their seat. Before class, though I have the opportunity. Thursday, I'll go for it. Asking about the test (whic I screwed up a bit) will be good.

Actually, the prof. called out everyone's names when handing back scantrons, which is how I figured it out ( ialso heard her last name, but I can't remember it dammit!)

The problem is she's completely surrounded when she sits down, but I was thinking of asking her how she did on the test.
