Oh my.

We should archive this, just because of the anomaly.

You are clearly a trend-setter.

Hopefully you will be able to find some trend-catcher-ons.

To me, it shall always be what Tim Gunn goddam says it is. I would like to note that goddam doesn't set off a red squiggle on the spellcheck. Perhaps its something Danish.

T-shirt, jeans, old shoes, socks with holes in the heel, and a hoodie... and maybe my brother's old hat.

Indeed, I look fabulous in all of them.

Buying things you don't want to impress people you don't like.

There's more to the word than that of course, but I think consumerism has just about devoured other meaning.

Also.

Yes, I am? Why?

Fashion is art, self-expression, creativity, imagination, Romanticism, a valuing of humanity, and the enjoyment of life.

I'm assuming that we're talking about good fashion, and not Derelicte.

Fashion is something I don't understand and am faintly suspicious of, much like Germans.

For some reason I have to undermine my own smugness earlier by acknowledging the reality that unless I'm stitching my own clothes I'm as much a 'slave' to fashion as anyone since fashion more or less dictates what is available to me at stores. Just because I don't peruse 'what/what not to wear' sections in magazines and instead go over my two part check list ("Does it fit? Does it have pockets?") doesn't mean that I'm somehow immune from current fashion conventions.

But they still do happen without my input or observation. I do not know what is 'in'.
"...I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season." -MLK Jr.

Something that I notice on other people, that I vaguely pay attention to more generally, and something that I go along with if I like what I see other girls wearing and think it might look good on me. Also the fact that most clothes shops sell fashionable stuff means that it's pretty easy to end up wearing fashionable clothing without having to really try.
