Precisely. NSG could care less if a meteor wiped out half the Earth's population.

Depends which half. Losing the US might slow the forum down.

If your hypothesis was correct, there would be far more shootings.

Er, well, no, it couldn't. Supposedly he targeted the class because his mother was teaching it (and the killer wasn't quite a 'kid').

I'd be careful with calling him a son of a bitch, since his mother was one of the teachers killed. And sick is exactly the right word to describe him.

They are actually pretty rare in the US and have not grown more common over the years, the annual risk for the average American of dying in a shooting spree is roughly 1 in 3 million. (100 people die on average each year in mass shootings in America)

America just has a very large population so they seem much more common. If Northern- and Western Europe was one country it would have roughly the same population and we would regularly hear news of mass shootings there as well.

Yeah, and they were reporting before that his mother's body had been found at her home. So my statement is only valid if this turns out to be the final version.

Prove that guns are the reason behind the killings please cause as far as I can tell a homicidal person was behind the killings not an inanimate object.

Murders are not caused by guns, murders are caused by someone who wants to kill another person.

I never said I blamed the media. Certainly I don't blame video games. Do you know how many CoD players turn out to be mass murderers? I don't, but I'd hypothesise that the rate is lower than the general one.
No, there IS an underlying issue here, but it's not the media alone that's perpetuating it.
