Tratvia was the name of a fictional country in the 1960s radio show The Embassy Lark. I liked the name, so when it came to be time for me to name a country in NationStates, I picked that one. It ceased to exist when I was called away from the Internet for some months. When I found NationStates again, I used the name Free Ruislip (inspired by a Two Ronnies sketch). When I found I could resurrect Tratvia, it once more became my main nation.

Oh, and Nanatsu no Tsuki...

Hardly new but I don't post very often if that helps ;P in fact, this is my first post on the new forum.


The name, "Rhanukhan", written in Modern Rhanukhani script.

Rhanukhan was the name I created for an empire in my childhood games (rather boringly it means "land of the Rhanukhii" - a word I'd corrupted from the Rancor monster in "Return of the Jedi" because I thought it sounded cool at the time - "Rhanukhii" translates to "People of the Rivers").

The provincial capitals that appear on the map of the main nation and five colonies all take their names from those same childhood games and are either corruptions of real placenames or connected to the characters who founded them (except the island of Lehpuhrta which was a shameless rip-off of the flying island, Laputa, from "Gulliver's Travels". Yes, during last year's regional roleplaying, Lehpuhrta did become a flying island and is now no longer on our map ).
