It's not illegal..this really won't put a dent in either place. :P
U.S.A.

My Nation does NOT reflect my actual political views.
Your test scores indicate that you are an open-minded ultra-progressive; this is the political profile one might associate with a university professor. It appears that you are skeptical towards religion, and have a balanced attitude towards humanity in general.

Your attitudes towards economics appear neither committedly capitalist nor socialist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as a liberal.

To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, a sensible principled egalitarian with few strong convictions.

I thought the angry Americans would be happy that they're beating the Chinese here, but no.

Change laws?

No, you'd have to change the Constitution.

^This. Jus soli is an absurd way of confering citizenship. I don't get why the new world is so fond of it.

It's not an absurd way of conferring citizenship in a country that has and traditionally has had as much immigration as the US.

I think this is absolutely ridiculous and should be outlawed. This is basically a cheaters' way to get their child US citizenship. This disgusts me.

What do you guys think?

What do i think that it's the worst source ever.
Here you have a little more complete report, that also includes the some of the legal aspect of the issue.

I think, with the exception of the code violation related to the zoning of the premises, that this is perfectly fine. The women have come here legally.

Frankly I think we should be glad there are still people who WANT to become American citizens. That won't be true for much longer, the way things are going.

People apparently don't like them entering the country "illegally"..... Also, apparently they think "illegal" means "in a manner I don't like", as opposed to transgression of existing law.

Why does it matter if someone has their child in another country?
There shouldn't be all these laws regulating where people can and can not live.
If anything, we need to release the strict laws and replace them with more lenient laws or none at all.

To me this is a good thing for the US and China;

China: Overpopulated Industrial nation - less population growth, asset in solving problem.
America: Shows we are still a land for those escaping oppression. Save image, keep good face with other such people from foriegn lands. Boost on the international level. Will not specifiy the stratigic benifit. I'm all for it, America use to finance these types of Chinese imigrants, at least until the Clinton Administration, when we stoped doing so in a failed political move ment to improve our relations with China. This is not to say I do not understand the opposition, I might have aggreed with them under differnt situation, but this is the exeption in my mind.

The system could be refined a bit, ya know instead of more illegal imigrants. Make it easier for them. But I swear to god if I start seeing chinese as much as I see spanish...

It's just another way for them to gain citizenship.

If I were born in an oppressive country, I can't say for certain I wouldn't try to leave any way I can. As for a child; well, how many parents would die for their children? If this is what these mothers are doing, then I can understand why they're doing it.

That doesn't make it right, but then this is a flaw in the system. People will do what they can to survive. Can't really blame people for being people.

the constitutution is a fairly big loophole, and pretty difficult to close, because that is where US citizenship is defined.

i dont know the answer to the problem, but people who like illegal aliens, like MSNBC, are going to be in no rush to publicize or fix the issue.

Those who can get across the pacific have considerably more means.

Also this is not about the mother staying in most cases it is about giving the child options down the road.

exactly.

anyone who can go through the amazing amount of time, trouble and money to get to the US in time to have a baby is someone we WANT in this country. those children will make a great addition to the US when they are old enough to move here.

Well most don't end up moving here, most end up coming here for education.

What generally happens is if the kid does not get into a top Chinese university, they will go to a middle tier university here, then back to China where they get improved job prospects from being fluent in English.

Koreans also do it too. Really this birthing stuff only provides future income for American Universities.

Yep pay them peanuts, and no need to by healthcare just drop them off at the emergency room if they get critically injured.

Clearly we should round up and deport all of these Chinese communist illegal immigrants and build and a battery of anti-aircraft missile launchers to further red Chinese incursions via passenger airline. It's the only reasonable response.

Not hardcore enough. Make sure the SAM's are mininukes. Gotta make sure that the spores of the Chinese don't infect the patriotic soil of 'Murica.
