Y'know, Bug, it'd be really easier to reply if your quotes weren't screwy.

If you like the way your government works, then you are living in the right place.

Or if you like the way government works it's because of all the people who've fought to make it work better and for everyone. Geography hasn't that much to do with it.

Right wing propaganda?

Yuppers.

I didn't see anywhere on my tax statement where I could opt out of supporting well people that won't work

They're an insignificant minority.

I don't "generalize" anything about poor people

Your posts say otherwise.

even though I don't have a clue what ebul is.

A misspelling of evil. You should know this if you've been on the Internets.

Nothing wrong with being poor, and there is a difference in being poor and being professionally on the dole!

Namely, that the latter is illegal and it's already being treated as a crime by the government, so I don't see your point.

I can't speak for Canada, just for what I see in the projects and on the rez.

Maybe don't generalise the projects and reservations to an entire country then? Generalisations born of ignorance are the worst.

One is too many if you can't support it, so I don't think that's a legend.

I assumed you were talking about people who supposedly had too many kids to get more welfare or some shit.

Yeah, one is too much if you can't support it, but you have to look at the loathsome residue of fundamentalism and attacks on birth control and attempts to improve sexual education in the USA to get the answer to that.

It works out to be the same.

You don't have a clue how it works if you think that.

If you don't pay, they'll take everything you have and imprison you.

And? If you're comparing this to a criminal operation, you're ludicrous. Taxes are a part of the social contract. You break the social contract, you're being punished for it.

If you don't pay property taxes there, they'll take your property after you die if your heirs don't pay them. Here, they'll put you in the street after less than 3 years.

How the hell does this have to do with anything, and do you even know how property taxes work in the UK?

Thank you!

Not a compliment, genius.

I do hold someone that tries to a different standard than someone that doesn't.

>implying people who are unemployed don't try

What a sick and immoral way of looking at one's fellow humans. Pretending they're all lazy failures.

If you're able to work and are looking for it, then fine, I'm glad to help. If you're unable to work, fine, I'm glad to help. If you're just too sorry and expect to be carried you can kiss my red ass!

Quit randwanking, it makes you look sillier than you already do.

I don't and won't have empathy for ticks.

>comparing humans to parasites

Yeah, you definitely don't have any empathy. Grow one already, goddamnit.

A tick is someone that can work, but won't and expects society to take care of them.

Translated into English: something that exists in the fevered imagination of deluded righties.

If you can't make it on one job, then get two. I have to. Are you somehow better, more deserving than I?

I'm not as callous or sociopathic, so yes, I am better than you. I don't have sick beliefs that can be summed up with the chorus of the Dead Kennedys' "Kill the Poor".

And I'm not blind enough to reality to advocate two jobs as a solution to anything. That's a refusal to notice the cause for the symptoms right there.

As a point about the absurdity of income equality where firemen, doctors and other life-saving individuals are paid less than people who throw balls around. Not really relevant to the Great-Souled.
Don't be deceived when our Revolution has finally been stamped out and they tell you things are better now even if there's no poverty to see, because the poverty's been hidden...even if you ever got more wages and could afford to buy more of these new and useless goods which these new industries foist on you, and even if it seems to you that "you never had so much" - that is only the slogan of those who have much more than you.

It is.
The role played by sportsmen helps drive a nation towards greatness by reminding them of the values of competitiveness and ambition. Thats what human society is all about. Thus it's relevant because they deserve their high salaries.

Doctors and firemen stop people dying, that's more useful and greater than kicking a ball about and reminding people of competitive values, and therefore at the very least the income gap should be less.

I understand that. I'm not advocating that we ban sports just that we start to put it in perspective.

It's a game, and like any other game from Monopoly to Chutes and Ladders it's a good fun distraction.

But that shouldn't mean that the players get millions in contracts or be regarded as heroes.
Firefighters are heroes, doctors are heroes, soldiers are heroes.
Derek Jeter is NOT a hero. Neither is Ron Artest or Kobe Bryant.

I don't view all soldiers, doctors or firefighters as heroes. You don't become a hero because of your profession.

I have no trouble with a sports player taking home millions each year for doing nothing if somebody wants to pay them that much. Doctors, firefighters and soldiers are mostly on the government payroll, athletes take money indirectly from the private sector.

idolizing manliness and creating all sorts of body image issues for people

If people want to base their desired body and attitude off a sports player then that's their business. Everybody says that society encourages girls to be skinny and boys to be manly but I don't see society doing this on the whole.

"Controlled". Typical libertarianspeak.

Source this or else you're pulling shit out of your ass. People who fraud welfare are a minority in any country.

You should report him to the police then.

Everywhere.

It's not my fault you're too damn lazy to do research.

This is where the most poor are! There are other places, but not with the numbers that are anywhere near these.

Stop and ask yourself why reservations are the poorest. And why projects.

It's not like a history of discrimination and marginalisation has anything to do with it. Nah, they're just lazy! :palm:

Neither one has any effect on poor having children they can afford.

If somebody has a kid they can't afford because their crazy parents made them think abortion is evil, then yes, it has an effect.

They all go to the health dept where birth control of all types are and have been free and almost without questions for 40 years.

The same departments that get picketed and attacked by idiot fundamentalist cunts?

I spent some time there and in the rest of Europe.

Your knowledge of Europe is still kinda lacking.

Yes, pretending.

Can you think of another reason to be on the dole other than lazy?

There are plenty of reasons to be on the dole when you've fallen on hard times. But you don't care because you want all poor people to die.

Silly? In your eyes? That's a compliment.

Thanks for reinforcing my point about your stupid worldview.

No not comparing, some are parasites.

Dehumanisation is fun, eh? Let's herd 'em all into camps too!

You seem not to be able to be callous as you seem to be reliant on a teet of someone or something to keep you, at least at the moment. You did say you had no income, correct? I don't advocate killing anyone.

How about you not try to mindread me, because you always fail?

Of course you don't advocate having two jobs, you just want someone else to so they can give so you don't have to have one.

What the fuck did I just say? Shut up with the idiotic attempts to guess my thinking, because you can't.

Don't take that personally as the you is implied to a group.

Group generalisations are a logical fallacy. Hence, your so-called "argument" is shit.

I don't know your reasons for not working, so I won't pretend to attach an opinion.

And yet you said earlier that I'm happy to rely on other people when that's not the case? WTF? Hypocrisy, much?

You can't understand why people don't want to support other people that do nothing and I can't understand why anyone would want anyone else to support them.

You can't understand that poor people and people who have hard luck in their lives are people too, and that the idea that "they do nothing" is a myth spread by right-wing fuckers to get other people to support attacks on social services.

You feel entitled to a good life because you exist.

Income inequality should vary based on different regions of the globe. Some will be libertarian free market areas others will be social democratic, communist and anarchist zones.

Back on topic.

Income inequality should vary based on different regions of the globe. Some will be libertarian free market areas others will be social democratic, communist and anarchist zones.

Why?

Oh.
  • No, I'm not Korean. I'm British and as white as the Queen's buttocks.
  • Bio: I'm a PhD student in Statistics. Interested in all sorts of things. Currently getting into statistical signal processing for brain imaging. Currently co-authoring a paper on labour market dynamics, hopefully branching off into a test of the Markov property for labour market transition rates.

Cuban model should be taken as an example. They are doing pretty well in spite of the merciless embargoes and sanctions applied by the United States, even better than them.
