I dunno man. As the great Jimmie Rodgers told us in his 1927 hit Blue Yodel No. 1, the Georgia water tastes like turpentine.

I can attest the NE Ohio water tastes great, we've done a hell of a job cleaning up Lake Erie.

New South Wales, which I notice is absent from the poll.

Born in a NY hospital despite my formative years being spent in Connecticut/New Jersey. Up through college in New Jersey. Now I'm in Massachusetts for graduate school.

Er... none in the poll.

The country I was born and raised in was the BRD, or GFR in English.
"I was walking along the bank of a stream when I saw a mother otter with her cubs. A very endearing sight, and as I watched, the mother otter dived into the water and came up with a plump salmon, which she subdued and dragged on to a half-submerged log. As she ate it, while of course it was still alive, the body split and I remember to this day the sweet pinkness of its roes as they spilled out, much to the delight of the baby otters who scrambled over themselves to feed on the delicacy. One of nature’s wonders: mother and children dining upon mother and children. And that’s when I first learned about evil. It is built in to the very nature of the universe. If there is any kind of supreme being, I told myself, it is up to all of us to become his moral superior."

insanity.

born in ny, raised in california, spent a decade in oregon, currently in nevada.

(40 of my 64 years in placer county which is in northern california)

nothing against the mountains in norther california, just no way for an old guy without a car to live there.

prefer to live out my last decades/years in nevada, oregon, washington state, or possibly british colombia.

not sure how to define "from". i am where i am. i've been where i've been.

only thing i represent is the inside of my head, and possibly other parts of this and other universes depicted in it.
truth isn't what i say. isn't what you say. isn't what anybody says. truth is what is there, when no one is saying anything.

"economic freedom" is "the cake"

I find some of the groupings in the poll quite odd, at first it looked like it was grouped into regions, now not really

California

You got to love how the poll just assumes that we are all Americans...

Well it's kind of geared that way, it really should say "What U.S. State are you from?"

When it says 'State', unless you live under a rock, you should probably know that it's meaning the US.

Don't get all hissy about it, create a thread for other countries with states if you're that desperate.

Irrelevant. You can't say that you don't think of the USA when someone talks about 'States' as a political entity. Coupled with the large American population on the forum, it should be pretty obvious, unless it specifically says in the OP.

Nah, you're missing the point. Starting a thread like this is a fuck you to any American or non-American that wasn't born in the US. "State" is also a collective term for regional subdivisions which plenty of people use instead of listing the various different names that countries use for theirs.
