However, a high street where the first shop was a pub, the second a chippy, the third a curry house, the fourth a Chinese takeaway, the fifth a posh Italian place, and so on and so forth, would surely be the ideal. I should point out that with most constitutional monarchies, the monarch has little enough power that they couldn't actually hurt, just maybe wind a few tourists up, and put the whole business into bad repute. The reason Britain is great is BECAUSE of multi-cuturalism. Nothing that is 'traditionally' British is actually british. For instance tea is chinese, potatoes come from america, sugar comes from america and africa, pasta is Italian. Probabaly the only British things are sheep, cows and moor ponies and the things produced by them. Besides the native Britons were taken over by the Angles and the Saxons and no-one is pure Briton any more. There has been evidence of blacks on british soil since roman times.
