I in no way attacked "bushsucks"'s personal character, just their sanity. I know, that doesn't make it ok. sorry. In my defense, I dislike radical conservatives as much as radical liberals.
The concept that virginity is somehow only a female thing is false and oppressive to women. I am male, and I value my virginity. My sexuality is still something I'm learning to control in a God-honoring way, and it will be a gift reserved only for my wife. There is nothing unhealthy about that at all. Counter-cultural, in some ways, but not unhealthy.

Moral mandates are moral mandates. If I believe something is wrong and I don't act on that belief, I am myself consenting to the very thing I believe is wrong. So. <shrugs>. I don't want to decide when you have sex. But I can still believe that when you do outside of marriage, it is wrong. As a matter of fact, enforcing the laws (or deciding them) is not the responsibility of the Christian. We're just here to please God in our lives and be a testimony to His holiness.

Wait, except in Africa, married women have one of the highest rates of AIDS/HIV...
Oh and to also address the latter part: People are biologically hardwired to not "keep their pants zipped". A species that did that would not be as effective at survival.

Actually, this is slightly incorrect. In Africa, it's not uncommon for girls to be married into their teens, and thus married women in Africa are at higher risk for HIV infection than unmarried women.

Which isn't important now that we aren't living in the wild. Nobody needs to pass down their genes as quickly as possible to avoid being eaten before that happens. If you want to live like animals, go move to the wilderness.

Put the biggest lock you can find on your underwear if you want. But don't you dare put a lock on mine just because YOU believe in a man in the sky. Freelanderness wrote:Wait, except that the only purpose isn't for procreation. There are pleasure centres, which in our primal days would have most likely, since this is science we're talking about had the purpose of motivating us to procreate. Now, however, through the magics of scientific advancement, we have a whole array of birth control methods, and sex is no longer something solely for the purpose of procreation. We do, however, still retain the drive to have sex from our earlier days. It's a completely normal, and I would argue, healthy urge.
Unlike you, I don't think the pinnacle of civilisation lies in denying one of our most basic needs (or wants depending on who you ask). In fact, I think the opposite, since I consider purposely denying yourself something that is healthy, natural, and pleasurable, is just plain illogical.

It should be self-evident that if you have a single, life-long partner, you'll gradually learn what makes them tick and how to please them. Rather than trying to have 'great sex' with a parade of different partners. The first time might suck because, well, both parties are inexperienced, but people do learn.

Someone's trying to tell you that you can't have sex where you want, when you want, and with who you want? Oh the horror, such oppression. I'm sure it's putting you on the brink of destruction.
