The Aztec religion was savage and was thankfully destroyed. Not all religions are the same.

God never once mentions any seal of confessional in the Bible, while he does speak against abusing children.
Yet, a number of Catholic Priests have had no problem breaking the latter, and the Church Higher Ups have had no problem protecting those priests.
But Pope has, and His Holiness is the method, through which the will of God is revealed.

I don't see how a club's rulebook should dictate what the law of a nation should be.
Your club is not special.
They will not conform with the law under any circumstance. They will be civilly disobedient; they will break the law, be tortured, humiliated, ruined, and executed before disclosing the confession.

They will face a punishment, if one is imposed; that is rather obvious.
Abatael wrote:Murdering =/= Disclosing information.
In words: Murder is not an analog to violating the Seal.

God > The Pope
God, himself, spoke of the need to protect children yet Priests have no problem breaking that command.
Also, the Pope is a joke with only the same holiness of a mafia don.

This is twenty first century, we trend to do things differently around here than in your century.
It does not matter what laws have been instated by the secular state. In every circumstance, the law of God outweighs the law of the secular state.
You may not follow the law of God, and you may feel it is not important.

Said priests are unworthy of their office and break the laws of both God and the Church.
Also, ad hominem.

Oh also:
Pope Clement XIV condemned the Jesuits in 1773, but Pope Pius VII favored them again in 1814.
If you read your history, you would know that the Jesuit Order was suppressed because of pressure from a civil power. Pope Clement XIV said on his deathbed "I have cut off my right hand." Also, the Jesuit Order is not a doctrine or moral law.

No, it doesn't.
In this century, we have accepted supremacy of state whose authority is derived from consent of people; quite move from supremacy of some ancient dude.

They are protecting people who have committed heinous crime. Okay, perhaps it is not in same level but both of them are wrong.
Yes, both violating the Seal and murdering someone is wrong, but, regardless, they are not equal.

The Church exists in a different sphere than the State. Each cannot interfere with the other. Also, "consent of people" is not absolute.
