I'm just going to spell this out for you: Neither Obama nor Bush truly cared about ending either war. The reason that they're coming to a close? Congress is slowly starting (yes, it's taken them that long) to realize that they may have been in conflict too long.
I give a crap if Obama's a socialist. That means someone's trying to turn us into the USSR, part II. That would be a major killer on political freedoms and economic conditions, and I can't see that going well for civil rights, health-related issues, or our life expectancy.

Well obviously not in the 80s onward but early on it was Stalinist, they moved gradually away from it though
