Not really, as I've already mentioned I consider myself to be more American than many people with American "citizenship" on this board.

..and I am NOT hijacking this thread to discuss that. Moving on.

Right. It is totally not their fault they accidently fired those rockets at Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. They thought it was the 'on' button for the espresso machine.

I would assume Joan was referring to the original strike taking out the Hamas military leader (you know... looking up... the original topic of the thread). I am sure he has everything to do with Hamas stockpiling rockets and planning various other ways of killing Israelis-- but it is not unreasonable to ask why the Israelis struck at him at this particular time. Maybe this was the first clear shot they have gotten-- or maybe it has to do with election politics, which I would not at all put past the Likudniks.

Then stop using it as an argument to criticise other people.

i dunno man, i think they fired those rockets at tel aviv and jerusalem after the recent israeli air strikes. i think you're being a bit naive.

obviously, all palestinians are to blame.

ask moderation about reading serious moderation candidates TGs without telling them about it until afterwards and/or apparently refusing to confirm/deny the exact timeline of TG reading ~~~ i hope you never sent any of the recent mods or the ones that got really close anything personal!

signature edit: confirmation has been received. they will explicitly do it before and without asking. they can look at TGs basically whenever they want so please keep this in mind when nominating people for moderator or TGing good posters/anyone!

OK, well we all consider ourselves Israelis and Palestinians, simultaneously, and intimately involved in these matters despite your laughable claims that we "live on the other side of the world".

Read this article, according to it most Israelis think that occupation of Gaza is the only possible way to achieve peace. I agree with them. IDF should march into Gaza and show them who's the boss. Like the guy in the article says, “We must, we must. We have to do like we did during Operation Cast Lead but this time stronger.”

Strapping bombs to it probably.... or maybe just surveillance. I'm guessing they're doing so for much the same reason anyone would use drones, projection with less risk of life on your own side.

It isn't. They're able to smuggle in hundreds of rockets.

Of course. I'm worried this will be more successful than their current strategy.

and they are fairly cheap and easy to build. so why wouldnt they?
The West won the world not by the superiority of its ideas or values or religion … but rather by its superiority in applying organized violence. Westerners often forget this fact; non-Westerners never do.

The most fundamental problem of politics is not the control of wickedness but the limitation of righteousness.

It's hard for me to worry about anything in the Israeli/Palestinian conflict.... not because I don't care, but more because they don't manufacture enough antacids for me to survive that level or period of worry.
