I would assume Joan was referring to the original strike taking out the Hamas military leader (you know... looking up... the original topic of the thread). I am sure he has everything to do with Hamas stockpiling rockets and planning various other ways of killing Israelis-- but it is not unreasonable to ask why the Israelis struck at him at this particular time. Maybe this was the first clear shot they have gotten-- or maybe it has to do with election politics, which I would not at all put past the Likudniks.

Read this article, according to it most Israelis think that occupation of Gaza is the only possible way to achieve peace. I agree with them. IDF should march into Gaza and show them who's the boss. Like the guy in the article says, “We must, we must. We have to do like we did during Operation Cast Lead but this time stronger.”
