DC and New York are predominantly blue. The areas most at risk of temporarily falling into rebel and terrorist hands are rural areas in the deep south.

Considering D.C and new york would be overrun by infighting the safest place would be NORAD atleast there the president could coordinate an assault.

You honestly think that there would be infighting over the various ethnic and religious groups in new york?
Then you'd be very wrong.
Imagine mindless mob violence compared to the New York Draft Riots.

I dunno. Knowing Bonnie Prince Charlie, he'd probably end up declaring war on Germany or making homeopathy the state religion or something. Which would definitely make Parliament the good guys.

This isn't the 1860s where many New Yorkers were deeply invested in the cotton market (and thus slave trade) and racist. New York City largely supports Obama and he could count on their support in any potential fight against reactionary rednecks.

Interestingly enough, supporting President Obama simply because he is black is just as racist as hating him for the same reason.

You do know the founding fathers basically stacked all power on the side of the elites. I mean, sure, Congress was democratic but you have to admit that the presidency (elected by the elite Electoral College) and the Courts (appointed by the president) are very, very undemocratic.
The founding fathers supported the right for the rich, educated elite to have self-determination. They despised so-called "mobocracy" and would've been horrified at the shadow of giving the common person the right to vote and decide on issues he/she is ignorant about.

New York City was a bastion of the Democratic Party long before Obama. And furthermore, it wouldn't be supporting him "cause he's black" but because he is the LEGITIMATE president of the United States (elected less than 2 weeks ago!)
