I live in SD and I don't know about the jail sentence hut you can get in a lot of trouble for running your hose not on your designated day. The water conservation people are trying like crazy to conserve as much as possible.

I grew up in San Diego. What with it technically being a desert and all, I can totally see that as being the case.

Growing up in Northern California near where all the water comes from, I too would like it if Southern California would conserve water...which, to be fair, in recent years they've at times been even better than we have about it.

But, it is as always a bone of contention between the two halves of the state. I have a bartender friend who worked at a hotel, almost kicked a socal asshole out because he said, "We just want you to give us the water and shut the fuck up."

I'm more on the 'sibling rivalry' sort of thing, in that I 'hate' socal, but not really. I like California as a whole and while I still think I live in Better California, as soon as someone else makes fun of it, I'm all up in arms...well, not really, because then I wouldn't get anything done, 'cause hacks like to complain about California a lot. But you get the idea.
