The last remaining active participant from the very first NationStates Football/Soccer World Cup (back in the first half of 2003) - currently in its 62nd edition - raises a glass of single malt scotch in celebration of this festive occasion - to NationStates; to the World Cup!

I also raise a glass in toast of Ariddia, in acknowledgement of his role in founding the longest-running sport tournament in NationStates - à votre santé, mon ami!

Geez, I had no idea it's been that long already! And LOL at http://www.nationstates.net/images/earlyns.png -I recall having seen the the "It'll be fixed soon" motto around a lot, back then when I had my first nation (The Empire of QeylIS). I had no idea, though, it was Nation #2.
It'll be interesting to see who'll still be playing in 2022 =)

Awww, I've realised it's now older than I was when I made my first nation. I was what, eight? and rather confused by everything. Wish I could remember its name. Happy birthday, NS!
