Obama to MTV: I won't be pushing gay marriage in second term

“One day after endorsing gay marriage proposals in Washington and Maine, President Obama told MTV viewers Friday that he would not be pushing gay marriage in his second term, ABC News reported.

According to Obama, “it would be up to future generations of Americans to implement meaningful reform,” ABC added.”

The gay electorate just got played like a drum.

So after this term, it will be what, sixteen years of Bush?

Obama already said that he was only supporting gay marriage as a person and that it would still be up to states to vote on it for themselves. No suprise here.

Wasn't that kind of what people did with slavery? I mean this most likely wont cause some major split or civil war but the idea of pushing it on to future generations doesn't seem smart.

Marriage isn't a civil right. As long as gays are not stoned to death or discriminated against for being gay, then there is no real problem.
