Prediction. You're going to be wrong.

In fact, I'm positive that we won't even have to wait for all the polls to close for your prediction to be proven wrong.

It is ridiculous. I wish we'd learn to shut the hell up.

The inability of anyone on this forum to keep their mouth shut (fingers still? reply key unpressed?) is what makes it so much fun.

For me, it's tonight.

It all comes to an end the second that California's polls close and everyone calls California for Obama.

Unless for some reason it was all wrong and the vote actually is close and Florida decides that Dade County voted for Pat Robertson again.

Indeed. Luckily, I am able to stay up for at least most of it, so I should be privy to a lot of the action.

Election Time

Postby Freedommerc » Tue Nov 06, 2012 3:58 pm

I see this election for pres in this way:
Two used car salesman are talking, first one is black, the second one is white.

1st: "This is the best used car you will ever own, it's certified good quality, buy it day." He really believes it! He doesn't know it's a lemon!

2nd: " This car is your best choice, best price and quality for a pre owned vehicle, you can't miss." He knows it's a "Lemon". He doesn't care.

So in this election you are going to vote, but will get the same results, A LEMON !

My mom said "cracker boxes". Pay attention.

Well, it's hard to understand her wit-

I can't. I just can't. I've never been able to pull off that kind of thing...I'm sure she's a nice lady.

I wondered about it for a bit, but figured tonight they might have bigger fish to fry.

Anyhow, here we are again. Presidential election. I wonder if anyone is going to cry this time around, because I seem to remember someone crying in 2008 (in joy). Either way, we won't know jack until what, 5 PM?
Time to hurry up and wait I suppose.

That was the closest I could get to a Rick Roll, but mostly because I couldn't think of anything that would actually relate directly to the previous post. So chalk it up to laziness. Just like I haven't left yet to vote/work.

I'm sure it would be due to a change in population shift, is there some constitutional precedent that says there can only be 538 votes? Or are votes allocated on population as a per 1million which means the total number can increase?

I assume the total number can increase, because who just randomly picks 538 and has it set in stone? That's just crazy.

No, it's fine. The US Congress is quite big enough already.

But didn't the founding fathers say the electoral college will meet on the first Wednesday after the second Tuesday in December?

Probably. Plenty of leeway in case an elector can only afford one horse, or it snows or something.

This shit's done by the time polls close on the west coast. Hawaii votes just for the heck of it.

I'm a Briton and over here nearly everyone's supporting Obama. Our main concern in these elections is nearly always foreign policy, but as with 2008 the US economy is an issue because our economy recovery depends on America's economic recovery. We'd never vote for the Republicans in our country - they're too socially conservative and their antipathy of the government is an alien concept.

A Romney win would definitely alienate America's allies. Maybe it was just the fact that Bush had left, but under Obama US foreign policy has gone back to how it was under the Clinton administration, back to when the United States can be considered a good and reliable leader. The Bush Administration made too many mistakes, by comparison. Romney isn't very experienced in foreign policy so a lot of Bush's advisors would come back and the same policies would return. I think there is a strong chance that Romney will be the next leader of the United States, but I don't think he will ever be leader of the free world.
