Now prove that the legality makes a difference. I'll be waiting.
"The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I'm saying? We knew we couldn't make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders. raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did."—former Nixon domestic policy chief John Ehrlichman

Cannabis isn't healthier than Tobacco. The main danger of tobacco is the smoke, both of which happen by tobacco or weed.

Chances of an overdose? Please tell me how much pot one has to smoke in order to die from an overdose. You wish to ban alcohol and tobacco products then because they cause increased risks of lung cancer and high chances of traffic accidents? Some form of medication like cough syrup can also cause traffic accidents and you can also overdose from that and simple asprin. Do you want to make these dangerous killers illegal as well?

Neither should be banned. We'll see a healthier world when people use their own personal judgment rather than rely on laws for their good health and the health of others.

Making ANY substance you can ingest, smoke, shoot, snort or drink illegal is JUST PLAN STUPID!! People have a right to there own body. Even if what they are doing is destructive, no government has the right to tell people what to do with our own bodies, unless they are nazi fascist commie assholes with mindless sheep for a population.

What about marijuana brownies :P? They're much better for you thank smoking either tobacco or Marijuana XD and are so much more powerful... *angel face*

I'd happily legalize marijuana in trade for tobacco, but I'm biased. That, and it would be a resounding failure. Once you've legalized something its almost impossible to make it illegal again. America showed us quite concisely with their little 1920s experiment.

I am sick to death about how people say pot is harmless. About ten years ago, I was sitting at a red light and some woman hit me from the rear very hard. As I was being put in an ambulance, she we being placed under arrest. I found out latter the police smelled the pot she was smoking as she was driving down the road, I guess she "forgot" to hit her breaks at a red light. She got busted, I had three vertebrae knocked out of my spinal column, one in my lower back and two in my neck, which was essentially broken. She almost killed me and I had to go in for emergency surgery. Ten years later, I still live with the pain every day.

One more note, my grandmother died as a direct result of second hand cigar smoke. I say ban them both.

Strawman fallacy. Marijuana's legal status has no bearing on its affect on a persons driving ability. Case in point being that marijuana was illegal and yet still this woman had some and drove a car with it.

Should alcohol be illegal for everyone because some people have caused accidents?

edit: grammar.
