I think it's OK to spank kids once in a while if you catch them in the act of doing something that they know they are not supposed to do. It has to be something that you have previously told them not to do multiple times, but they are doing it again anyway. It should only be used as an immediate punishment for serious misbehavior, none of this "Your daddy's gonna spank you when he gets home" crap. If it can wait till daddy gets home, it's not serious enough to require a spanking. No belts, no more than a slap or two, and you should not be spanking your kids every day. Anything more than that is crossing the line into abuse.
