If your parents' rules require violence to implement, they're shit rules.

Sticking it to the man should always be encouraged. It's preferable to passive obedience.

Just plain luck I guess

Postby Vector Control » Thu Nov 01, 2012 7:50 pm

Fact: I"m 54 years old and was raised in a very strict large family. We got spanked (Switch) by Dad. Not often but enough to be familiar with the rules of the house and personal conduct. I had Three older brothers and Two older Sisters.

Fact: I have Four children, all adults now with their own children. I never spanked my kids. Yes I talked myself silly and screamed in frustration many times... but never struck them. I did not allow the school system to smack them around either. With Three teenage Girls the mere act of not choking them out was hard, very hard. But we all got through it somehow and are a very close family.

I was just lucky, I just didn't want my children afraid of me as I was of my Dad.

I'm Out

oh this is cute

it's like when a mother is arguing with a child psychologist over whether should throw her children in a cold shower and make them kneel on a broomstick to dry and the guy puts out lots of arguments and then the mother guys BUT I'M A MOTHER. DO YOU HAVE KIDS? MAYBE WHEN YOU HAVE KIDS ONE DAY... and then the audience all agree with her because she is a mother that makes her an expert on everything, especially secrets to whitening your teeth that dentists don't want you to know
ask moderation about reading serious moderation candidates TGs without telling them about it until afterwards and/or apparently refusing to confirm/deny the exact timeline of TG reading ~~~ i hope you never sent any of the recent mods or the ones that got really close anything personal!

signature edit: confirmation has been received. they will explicitly do it before and without asking. they can look at TGs basically whenever they want so please keep this in mind when nominating people for moderator or TGing good posters/anyone!

I was raised by a violent, abusive father and so did I.

Of course, I lucked out: The psychological damage in me manifests as a pathological inability to abuse another. My hatred for my father insures that I will do whatever it take to NOT be like that.

Yes, although non-delinquents like myself would have made sure it just ended at "Can't post here". Unlike some people, I respect my parents' rules, perhaps you can probably trace that to the spankings, as that would be the only thing deterring me from going against the rules.

is there anything that your parents could tell you to do/not do that you would envisage disobeying

Well duh, despite being loyal to my parents I'm still a kid who's going to act dumb occasionally, maybe from peer pressure and what not.
