I dunno but to me it sounds like you guys are describing something like those group projects you have to do at school. If you can get in a group with some smart nerd, then you don't have to do nothing. Sit back and the nerd will work his tail off cause he doesn't want to fail, and you get the same grade.

If communism/socialism is the logical outcome of democracy... then how come every time a self-declared socialist government who claims to seek communism as the goal takes power it always leads to a dictatorship?

Proletariat is a collective noun, referring to all proletarians (workers) as a whole.
Dictatorship of the proletariat simply means the rule of the workers.

The lack of democracy in states like the Soviet Union has nothing to do with socialism. Correlation does not mean causation.
There have been and still are plenty of non-democratic capitalist nations. That does not mean capitalism leads to non-democratic national governance. Similarly, socialism does not lead to non-democratic governance, and instead the lack of democracy in many historic and existing socialist states is the result of other factors.
